If you are going to play only one or two of your games, do you turn them all on or just what you are playing?

Usually, I just turn on what I am going to play unless the kids are downstairs as well, then I may turn on a couple others. Unfortunately, it has been over a month since I have turned on all the games at once. I guess I don't want to run games I know won't get played.

I have everything hooked up to one wall switch, so they all go on. The power switches are inconveniently located and I haven't come up with a better solution yet.

I have each of my wall outlets switched. I keep up to 4 games on each outlet, via a surge protecting 2-to-6 "cover plate" adaptor, and so the games come on in blocks of up to 4. I will usually immediately turn off the ones I'm not going to play when their "personal" switches are handy. Too many aren't.

Usually just what I am playing; but I like to cycle the games every now and then. I've found out that leaving them off for too long causes more problems than anything else...

I am lucky in that all of my cabinets have easy to access power switches so I only turn on the games I am going to play. As much as I like all of the games on, I don't have the $$$ to run them all constantly :)

I play my 4-6 times a month. I have 12 games, and I have them on one remote switch. So I push the button and they all come on. I like them all on too, more arcade like feel. I do keep my fingers crossed that they all start up and no problems.

I picked up a couple of those remote controls, so I have half of my games on one remote and another half on another remote. Actually I have 2 others that I hand plug in as well. I like to have several on at a time so if my kids or wife come in looking for me, they can jump on a game and play.

I just turn on what I want to play unless my nieces are here. I have a surge protector mounted inside every game just inside the coin door. Then I run a 15' extention cord out the back of most cabs to reach a main surge protector to different outlets.

I hear that. The G07 in my Ms. Pac takes about a minuet to come up and I always mentally cross my fingers. It had a cap kit some years ago and the flyback is only 3 or 4 years old. It has a really great picture but the wait drives me nuts.

I have 8 remote switches that have 2 to 4 games on each switch so I just turn on the bank of games that I want to play. Once in a while I'll turn on all of them for the arcade experience but that's mostly just to make sure they all still work. ;)

Robotron is a different story... it's up in our family room and I turn it on whenever I'm home and leave it on all day. There's just something about seeing it on that puts a smile on my face. :)

Sorry to get off topic, but what kind of switches are you guys using to turn on your outlets? How many games are you running off one breaker and what size is it? Right now I have 5 and was going to run them off one breaker but I am looking for a way to turn everything off and without using the switch on the games. I am still wiring up the house/room and I am also thinking about a floor outlet for bigger games like air hockey, I do not have one but I do have Cool Gunman witch is just as big.

As far as the question, right now I have my games in the garage and turn on what my son wants to play wile I work on the house. If he has friens over I'll turn them all on so they can play what ever they want.

I have all mine on those switches they sold during holiday season at Walmart and Walgreens. Unless my game has a switch on the front on the cabinet. You can also use that switch to turn on a surge protector which can obviously turn on about 4-5 games

Since I built my game room from scratch I installed a wall-outlet per game that is connected with one of those switches:

This makes it a breeze to centrally switch on any game or neon/light individually. It does require a LOT of wire though....

Swtiching a lot of machines on via one switch is not doing your machines any good. You are creating a huge power surge that the machines will have to "swallow"....

And of course it is a complete waste of energy to have games running that you are not playing. I only switch on what I want to play, but I do make sure all games get turned on once in a while.

I got a remote-controlled outlet so that all mine come on with the push of the button on the keychain. It is RF, so I can do it from anywhere in the house. Plus, when I'm not around, the games can't be turned on!

Just the couple I'm playing if I'm out there by myself. If friends are over, they all go on, even if some never get played. Nobody but me plays Zaxxon and only one person ever plays Soul Calibur.
