I picked up an aliens extermination arcade today, its awesome, I have never played it before. I also have a gunblade arcade, but this one blows it out of the water in terms of fun so far. Anyways, I had a couple of questions. it doesnt have a normal coin door or coin mechs, I was told it came out of a dave and busters, and still has a card reader and some of the setup. do you think the wiring is still there that I could add a coin setup? how would I find what doors and mechanisms it should have, or does anyone know/have pics? any other cabinets/arcades use the same one/size? secondly, is it possible to add any games to this since it is pc based? I have seen a gun upgrade with new pc and stuff that includes this game, house of the dead, and one other, but is it possible to just load the other games onto this cabinet? thanks for any insight

Here is a link to the manual. https://service.globalvr.com/downloads/aliens/040-0120-01_AliensSystemManual-WEB.pdf

"Chapter 9" lists the pinouts and you can follow that to add a proper coin door/bill validator. Wiring should probably still be there. This is a GlobalVR game so the coin door is probably the same as their other games, it looks identical to my PGA cabinet coin door. You will probably have to go into the operator menu to change the payment type, I don't know how the DB cards coin up. GVR games are also usually installed on winxp embedded operating systems, stripped down version of XP to only have what the game requires. You'd have to have separate drives on an HDD switcher to run multiple games and still preserve Aliens. Also games like HotD are light guns, I believe Aliens uses gears in the gun base so any 'upgrade' would be an emulator.

I think this is the only game with a LCD screen I liked, probably the last arcade game worth a jot, a lot of fun and the gun is cool with the separate buttons for flamethrower and all :)
