Anyone use airbrushing to touch up cabinets. I just bought a pinbot and though about trying to airbrush the cabinet. I guess it seems quicker than painting. If so what is a good model to buy?

Sounds like a great idea to me. My best friend growing up was an airbrush artist in town. He began using a Paasche VL to start learning and then moved up to an Iwata. I can't remember the model he had, but I do remember how much he liked it.

get a compressor if you dont already have one,if you uy tinned air it will not give you constant pressure as the tin gets cold as you release the pressure and the pressure drops off.

its realy good tool for what you are anting to do,in fact air brush is great,i do a bit of scifi modelling and i use it all the time.

use a nice masking tape,i suggest tamiya or something similar as it cuts down on bleeding.as for your paint i use it for arcylic and enamels no problems,i will be firing laquer for ther first time soon and apparently thats also food for air brushing.

i would suggest you use acrylic paints to be safe and thin a little either with thinners or water.

Good luck. Post updates! Have been considering this too look forward to seeing how this works for ya!

Iwata are top of the line in my book. They can be pricey for a good one. My airbrush was over 400. Your not going to be painting fine lines on these cabs. Not kidding here, but Testors make a real decent affordable easy cleaning air brush. Give them a shot if your gonna touch up cabinets.

There are some basic double action kit knock offs on EBAY that work well. The Pasche are really nice. Get extra bottles with the knock offs. Also you don't need a huge compressor and make sure it has a good water trap. The small compressors on EBAY are fine.

An air brush is great for small areas but it takes time and practice. Also I find Frog Tape or blue tape excellent when masking. I am no expert but I have dabbled with an air brush on a couple of small touch ups for games and it worked well.

But then my touch ups are a bit more extensive.
