I can't ride his junk even if I wanted to: he tossed it off the roof and made KLOV cry.

Nice attempt at being clever. But if you consider what he was tossing off the roof as junk, then you have no business being here.

And to defend him by saying he gives so much back to the hobby, that lets him off the hook by destroying cabinets that people would drive a good distance and probably pay some cash to have?

That was very difficult to watch for sure! All I could do is add up all the parts I've bought in the past that were smashed on the ground. Shit a used set of pinball legs alone are worth a few bucks! Each of those pins were worth a min of $100 easily and if I saw correctly that Tempest had the 6100 still in it. :(

If I can't fix the sound in my TRON cab, I'm going to do what Todd did and just destroy the whole thing. So you all better pray that I do get it fixed!

And I need to sell some marquees soon too. If I don't get the price I want for them, then I'm going to just destroy them. And don't blame me; blame Todd's bad influence!

Todd is truly KLOV. Killing Lots Of Videogames!

Per his post on RGP, I guess I can no longer defend this:

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.pinball/browse_thread/thread/fb1631a953e300ae#

"Here is footage I shot 2 1/2 years ago...never used it yet... its raw
footage of us throwing Tempest, Afterburner, Omega Race, Toobin
(animator and all!), pinballs Bad Girls, Mario Andrretti, Street
Fighter 2, and Last Action Hero off our roof---remember ten years ago
I throw a Black Knight and a Ms Pacman off the roof...this time, its
in High Defination and Widescreen! And YES...I COULD have donated
them to any number of organizations---but I already donated 300
machines already! Eventually, 90 seconds of this will make it into
our new program... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PlGhKuE1Rc "

Wow, there's a serious case of selfish entitlement going on here.

This is his stuff. HIS STUFF.

If he chooses to donate something to the arcade community because he doesn't want it any more, then that's his prerogative. If he wants to throw stuff off the roof, then same thing.

It's not like he's logged on here flaunting his actions. Youtube is hosting his videos and he's pandering to the 'shock value' crowd there.

I own a few cabs and sure, I would love to have been offered the chance to get my hands on some of those pinballs. Personally I don't agree with what he's done. But again, it's HIS STUFF. If I want to go throw my broken laptop off a building, I can. I need not be concerned with the laptop repair community and their laid claims on my LCD, motherboard, optical drive, etc etc etc.

Nice attempt at playing sarcasm cop.

Please don't even pretend that your opinion on who should and should not be here has any weight. Let alone that *you* can judge if *I* should be here. You're just making an ass out of u and me.

If video cameras were more ubiquitous in the 80s, it would have made a lot of people's heads explode with what happened to many cabinets.

Now I just want to hurt somebody...

For f--k's sake just give the stuff away, you'll find plenty of takers! Yeah they're entitled to do whatever the hell they want with their stuff, but what a f--cking senseless waste, and putting it on video is rubbing everyone's noses in it.

I'm sure the whole idea behind this is to get people all stirred up. That's what douchebags do.

Destroying games doesn't benefit anyone. All it accomplishes is it creates a stir and makes him look like a douchebag, which is what he is.

Yes, it is his property and he can do whatever he wants with it...blah, blah, blah. That doesn't make him any less of a douchebag.

That was a pretty lame thing to do.
Nobody is denying that he can do what he wants, but most of us are saying he did the wrong thing.
He could have donated those items to a local youth group or church where they would have been used a ton.

No sacasm intented. And I know my opinion has no weight here. I do not have the skills that some of the members here have that repair and restore games. Those are the members who's opinions have the true weight around here. I only buy and sell said items. Plus it seems the only ones making an ass of themselves are Todd and of course yourself.

+1
Concisely put. Just think, 25 years from now when there is a tenth of this stuff left "out" there.... What a fool.

You can clearly tell (Or at least I can) that no monitors were thrown off the roof. You can see at least one that was taken out. If they had monitors it would have had a bigger bang.

I have dealt with Todd and he is a great guy. I don't agree with tossing those games off but I wasn't close enough to grab any of them anyway. By everyones reaction every operator that conveted a Tempest or any other classic and threw away the parts/monitor should be shot and hung as well.

WOW...every DAY of the week 25 arcade games are demolished....parted out, whathave you!! And I suppose the car collectors start protesting Hollywood when they smash "perfectly good cars" and blow up "perfectly good buildings"! Sorry guys, but this is the REAL world!! But if you want to save every game out there, please come over and BUY some games from me....I have 300 more, and I am really getting antsy about throwing them off the roof next week!

Yeah, I saw this guys other video a while ago. I guess he probably justifies the money he could have got out of the parts/etc as "advertising costs" I've read ads on Craigslist where people say things like "I would rather burn it than take any less" I guess this guy is serious. Overall I guess a few less parts will not make a huge difference but the way the guy does it is pretty shitty. Reminds me of when I was a kid collecting Baseball cards and some other kid had multiple copies of a few I needed and he just ripped them up in front of me while laughing. Sure, they were his and he can do what he wants with them and he got a good laugh out of it I guess but from that point on I just kind of thought of him as a D-bag. I guess overall not a big deal but I just cant see how this helps him, even from a business prospective.

Not a cool thing to do IMO. Yes it's his stuff. So he can do what he wants...well good for him I guess??

Advertising or whatever his goal was. All actions have reactions.....especially when you film it and put it on youtube....

I have to agree with many. There were lots of parts on those machines that could have been sold. He must do ok business wise, to kill off lots of parts like that...Parts that could have been sold to make money for the business. But hey they saved time not having to fix those 9 machines.....right? ;)

I bet the cleanup was fun?
