Wrong sir, wrong! Our childhoods crashed to the ground to be forgotten forever. Parts that could bring others' games to life were destroyed for an advertising campaign that many of us consider sacrilege. Granted, Todd did not post the video here for shock value and we all know he's running a business. I'm not trying to say he should do this or that with his parts, but some of us desperately need those parts and we're willing to pay for them. Now they are gone forever.

What is amazing, is that they went through all the effort to destroy those games, but resulting video looks like crap. No Tripods, no tight shots, no multiple angles. No wonder they could not use it in their commercials. They might want to hire a proper video crew next time.

I don't like games being destroyed either BUUUUUUT...

My stomach churned watching this, just like it did several years ago when he did this for his other informercial.

As for the hate coming from some people for Todd, whatever. I understand your reaction, but I think it's unwarranted. I've seen Todd posting free stuff (in some cases, entire machines) to you guys all the time. Even when in the past he's had people straight up steal entire machines out of his warehouse on top of taking free stuff out on the dock. Ten years worth of giving stuff away if we count RGVAC.

His love for this stuff is also pretty obvious. Go check out his YT channel where he breaks down rules and interesting facts on various pinball and arcade games. Some of which is from his own private collection IIRC. I hate the "all about cash" people in this hobby as much as the next guy, but I really don't think Todd fits that 1-dimensional mold.

For the record, I've never met the dude or done business with him...but I am definitely familiar with his contributions to the hobby.

WOW, what a really bad idea for a pro-arcade advert.............

WOW, what a REALLY BAD idea for a pro-arcade advertising campaign. I mean really bad.

Who the hell came up with that idea and who decided it was a good idea to use it twice???

I am glad to hear that Todd does good things for the coin-op community but this seems to me to be a very misguided advertising effort. Who is his chief of staff? They better have another brainstorming session and come up with a real advertising campaign. Pronto!

I could not watch it after about 1 minute. Say what you will about his business, this is bad business and there is absolutely no upside or reason to do this. I actually took it as a smack in the face to my livelihood. One man's trash is another man's treasure and there were a lot of great parts in there that many of us could have used. I have bought stuff from Todd in the past, but this is downright despicable.

Man, am I bummed that I watched part of that.

Seems kind of dangerous for employees to go up on a roof with no railings and toss stuff weighing hundreds of pounds off of it like that. Who cares about the games...his employees are exposing themselves to serious injury or death.

I only bought one thing from him, ever. It was a supposedly working power supply that I didn't try to use for a few months...and when I finally got around to it -it never worked. I tossed it. Not everything he sells is "high quality"....Sorry Todd....

makes putting them into the dumpster that much easier i guess

might as well make a video

dont like seeing parts going down the tubes like that
just awful

I can't see why any rational person would pitch these machines off the roof. Even if the cabs were shot (I did notice lots of cracks in the Tempest side), they still had marquees, bezels, control panels, possibly monitors (couldn't tell for sure), and playfields and backglasses in the pins.

If you must pitch beat cabs off a roof, strip them of all usable parts first, for crap's sake!

Epic fail.

Kyle

It did exactly what it was suppose, to get people talking about the name. Bad or good, any PR is good PR.

With that being said, this showing just proves to me how much "quality" service they would provide on their machines. I myself wouldn't trust them, and will never buy from them if this is how they are. "Oh, let's destroy some machines and usable parts, so I can drive my prices up even higher! Yea, that will solve everything."

All I can say to them is "Thanks dumbass, hope you go bankrupt soon."

For those of you who didn't make it to the end:

"It was totally worth it.... that's 9 games we don't have to fix ... thank God"

You know, you can do what you want with your inventory, but I really don't feel like giving you my money when I know some of it will end up in the hands of your asshat employees.

Maybe TNT's "restorations" would be better quality if your employees liked their job? I mean fixing games vs. throwing them off of a roof.

Contributions to the hobby? Thats a good one. Now get back to riding on his junk.

I'm just bringing another perspective on the guy during this little bashwagon. I forgot this was the arcade collecting hobby. The hobby where everything needs to be as black or white as possible so everyone has an opportunity to show their knee jerking.

Now get back to riding on his junk.

I can't ride his junk even if I wanted to: he tossed it off the roof and made KLOV cry.
