This is a moot point, because I already bought it; but I'd like to know how badly I did.

I picked up a Ms Pacman/Galaga 20 Year Reunion in nearly new condition. The only cons were missing key and a TINY bit of wear on the vinyl sideart along the bottom; we're talking less than an 1/8 inch.

It was billed as the Commercial version with 24 inch monitor. It does have the 24 inch monitor, but it does not have a working coin mech. It has a faux coin door, instead. Not a decal, but a fake door which opens to reveal crt adjustments, service/test button and volume control.

I paid $1200 for it. In your experienced opinions, was that high? Low? Average?

Thanks!

Around here (PA/OH/WV) you could get a commercial one with typical wear for around $900.

TC,

What does the model number look like?

Also, does the machine have just a single coin door, or an over/under one?

I'm asking because I had the commercial coin-op version and it had an over/under coin door. The top portion opened to show just what you mentioned, a volume control and test button. The bottom one was for the coin box.

As far was what you paid, I got mine for $400 and it was home-use only. The family was moving and just wanted it gone, so I got a great deal. I ended up selling it for $1300 so you came in under that.

It has a single coin door with a tubular lock and non-functional coin slot and return. No bottom door.

I don't know where to find the model number, but the serial number is:

PGUR_CG0182

To the OP,
What you have is the Chicago Gaming version. They took over manufacturing these games after Namco switched over to the Pacman 25th anniversary model. They actually still make them today for close to 3K retail. You did OK for 1200 being a HUO game. The other model that some are discussing is the cabaret no coindoor at all (just a decal of one) and that one sells for less.

Side note:
The reason the game is set to not allow a coin to pass through is so that Namco doesn't have to pay GenComp. Their licensing deal states that GenComp only gets royalties on coin operated Ms. Pacman machines.

As was stated, you do in fact have the Chicago Gaming Co. version of the game, hence the 'CG' in your model number.

This would be the home use version of the machine. I also had one of the home version cabaret Ms. Pac/Galaga with the faux coin door (sticker) and it still had pricing options in the set-up menu.

Can the home use models be converted to coin-op? New coin door would be easy, is the pcb the same for both models?

I believe so, but not 100%. I have had about 6 different ones, all different versions and PCB styles, and they all have a setting to set freeplay or coin up.

I was not aware that you could convert a home version to coin via dip settings. Would like to see this.

I own the commercial version but be curious anyways.

I mean in the adjustments. I am not sure if the coin options are missing. I have never seen a version that couldn't be set on freeplay or coin op and I am pretty sure the board isn't missing the connections for the fingers, at least on any boards I have seen

This is 25pacgal, but same point :)
