These items are no longer for sale. Thank you for the interest.

This thread is MMAO/Interest Check and I'm in MN. Let me be clear that I'm not new. This stuff won't be free. Shipping prices for larger items will run between $20 and $50 depending on the item so keep that in mind if you MMAO. If I don't get any reasonable offers or don't have enough interest, I will either let everyone know I've decided I can't afford to part it out or post prices.

Hey everyone,

I made a deal on an upright After Burner machine and after getting it home there are more problems with it than I think I want to deal with.

The main issue is that it's missing a ton of screws (I'd say about 80% that are supposed to hold it all together), the support board for the stick is really mangled. The stick itself was jury rigged to stay in place. Brackets that used to hold the front part of the stick assembly down are missing. One piece (I think to hold the brackets that were supposed to hold the stick assembly down) was actually removed, bent and then wedged between the Control Panel the the stick to hold it in place. The power supply is a bit flaky. Wiring was redone at some point and the thing has it's vertical reversed (admittedly that should be an easy fix--just a couple of wires---don't see anything in the manual about dips reversing the vertical movement.)

It has a working vibrating motor and stick but the top button is loose and has no spring to it anymore.

The boardset is an Afterburner II and it works great. Cage is intact and all and very very clean.

It's got a very clean, bright and clear WG 19K7602 -- Some burn in (From a Magic Sword I think--doesn't appear during game play yadda yadda.)

Shroud is in decent shape. Scratch on plexi... Novus 3 might work but will take a buffing wheel or something to get it polished enough for Novus 2. Stickers are mostly intact.

Can anyone tell me if they're interested in stuff like this? Shoot me a PM if there is something you want specifically.

Updated pics.

The picture on mine is fine. It's just when the PS firsts fires up it hisses like it's got moisture in it or something. It eventually quiets down.

I also know nothing about Afterburner power supplies--it looks like a switching power supply possibly after market but in the late 80s they may have started using them. I don't know.

Edit: Also no CPO. There are stickers all over the CP. But After Burner had no CPO per se.

Yep I know what you mean mine was a little rough when I first got it too.

So far it is really close to being done right now. I have it back together and running again and got the cyclic and thruster completely rebuilt including some NOS parts that I found on a website.

My stick assembly was exactly like yours sounds. I litterally spent 1.5 hours and 60$ on bolts and nuts for my Afterburner for the same reason. It can be done; if you choose not too I may want some parts from you. I'll post a PM shortly.

Do you know if the boardset is an upgrade from the first release of After Burner, and do you have a picture of it? I bought a upgraded board last year that doesn't work, so I might be interested in this one.

Ah the whole game seems to sell for $100 pretty regular at auction, didn't think the board would be that much.

Yeah agree with TBK I got my whole afterburner for 125$ Was only missing a monitor and the plexi bubble. I sent you a PM for some of the parts just let me know,
