A couple weeks ago I picked up two non-working After Burners for cheap on Craigslist. I'm new to the arcade thing so I figured this would be a good learning experience. I originally posted about these over at BYOAC, but figured I'd start my fix-up thread here since this forum seems more geared towards original equipment rather than MAMEing stuff. I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the restoration forum, but since I really need help, I chose here. Here's a link to the first thread at BYOAC:

After cleaning them out and looking them over, I decided to try and fire them up. Since one of the cabs obviously spent some time submerged in water, including all the power supply components, I decided to use the better cab.
Both cabs came with PCBs and monitors. The cab in better condition has a Wells Gardner 19K7610. The flooded one has Pentranic. The tube is labeled A48PNT07X and E133019. The chassis is labeled Model# 1019 and E161851.
Using the better cab, I powered up the game with each possible combination of PCB and monitor. I took pictures in both game and test modes.
First I tested the Pentranic monitor with what I'll call Board A. The monitor was just black in game mode so I didn't take a picture. When I switched to test mode, the picture was kind of fuzzy and there were blue horizontal lines on the screen, but I could see enough to do a memory test. Everything came back good except for ROM 29.
I then tested the WG monitor with board A. The screen was solid blue with slightly off-horizontal stationary white lines. When I switched to test mode, the screen became a darker solid blue with a whitish haze in the middle.
Next I tested the Pentranic with Board B. The screen remained dark so I didn't take a picture. After switching to test mode, the screen displayed thin, stationary, slightly off-horizontal lines in many colors.
Finally I tested the WG with Board B. In game mode the monitor displayed a darker blue than it had with Board A, but with the same white lines. After switching to test mode, the monitor displayed solid blue, darker than that shown in game mode.
Like I said I'm new to this so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Matt
