Okay, so I haven't been collecting that long but someone I know has.

Well anyway, surprisingly even though I didn't get into bed until after 2 am early this morning due to driving over 17 hours solo to pick up two Candy Cabs in BFE, Iowa I actually woke up early (8:30ish).

I decided to check Craigslist as I am a maniac. I came upon a craigslist ad for a Ms Pac and a DK Jr. I could tell both of them were pretty beat up but the price was good. Though, I was only interested in the Ms Pac.

I did some haggling via texts and within about 30-40 mins I was on the road for another pickup. The actual worst part was the directions she gave me were to a bar right next to a very large orthodox church. I could throw a beer bottle from the bar and hit the church. Everyone in the bar thought I was crazy and I thought I was led on a wild goose chase or about to be mugged. Then I got a text saying she was outside with the game.

It paid off as I scored a Ms Pac upright for $200. I don't think I did that bad really. She's pretty beat up. There's major fading to the Marquee, some fading to the right side, the CPO is torn, and worst of all, the bottom was about to fall out. Never the less she was 100% working.

Even better, she's not problem anymore. Tbbk has apparently been collecting for 12 years and has been unable to acquire a Ms Pac or a Pac man. Seeing as my first machine was a Ms Pac mini (which I prefer to the upright) I let this one go for a 100% working dedicated Naughty Boy, an extra Naughty Boy boardset, a 100% Scramble boardset (for a Pop flamer I'm deconverting back to Scramble), and a couple transformers I needed desperately.

Enough talk, here she is:

Thanks a bunch. I never quite found a deal on a Pac or Ms. Pac that I was happy with before now.

The wife has already had me order the 96 in 1 Multipac from Mike Doyle as a Christmas present!

Well, the pictures I took don't do it Justice. It's in a lot worse shape then as seen in the pics.

Still, I gave up on a nice profit I could've made relatively easily, which means something because I've been driving my F-150 on a 1.5-2.25 hour round trip commute to work 5 days/week for the last year and need a more fuel-efficient car. However, I'm a nice guy and didn't want pass over my buddy for something he's been after for soooo long. I know he's not going to flip it so we're good.

Looks like something some magic erasers and turtle wax could make look really good. Granted the marquee is faded almost to white.

Nice pickup! She's a beauty.

You really need one of these...

I have a feeling someday I will be getting one of those machines, ever time I tell people I collect arcade machines, the first question I get asked "Do you have Pac-man or Ms. Pac-man?"

Nice score! You really can't beat that price honestly.

Nice score. I got one for $250 last year, and it is in the same general shape. She worked hard on location, but is now enjoying retirement here. No game room is complete without a Ms Pac Man.

Cleaned the monitor and all the glass bits on both sides, replaced the grommet and now she is playing good. Still needs more cleaning, a whole new bottom, t-molding, feet, corner guards and coin door detailing. A new marquee and overlay will have to wait for a while, I will do the cheap pretty stuff first. The monitor of course has pretty heavy Ms. Pac burn. I will swap the tube out eventually, I have lots of tubes.
