So, I currently have a TMNT2 at home. I was looking this thing over, and the sideart is HORRIBLE. Whoever put it on (3 pieces each side), was obviously on drugs because there isn't a single seam that lines up. Bubbles, scratches, it's just flat out bad all around. Then I started looking at the mismatched seems a little closer.. there is something else under the side art...

Well, the side art looks like crap, and the CP is in pretty rough shape. Finally, I get the balls to tear a bit of the sideart back. I really wanted to see what was under there. It was originally a TMNT!

So, now I have to decide. Either way, the TMNT2 sideart HAS to come off. I suspect the TMNT sideart is in better condition, and it looks like it was never really "prepped" for the TMNT2 art, so I might be able to salvage it.

I'm looking for some input.

1. Should I revert this back to a TMNT? Would require a new marquee, board, CPO and Side Art if I did. (expensive option)
2. Keep the TMNT2, bury it in my arcade so you don't see the sideart or have TMNT sideart on a TMNT2... (Cheap option)
3. Keep it TMNT2, but redo all of the sideart and CPO with repros from Arcadeoverlays.com? (middle price option)

Curious to see what some of the rest of you would do in this situation....

I don't think your TMNT sideart underneath the conversion would have survived in good condition. Most of them look horrible today even if they haven't had another set of stickers on top of them.

Someone repainted my project TMNT black and I am just going to leave it that way.

Pull the TMNT 2 sideart, it's pathetic looking even in new condition, TMNT sideart is corny but it's not as sad as TMNT 2 sideart.

Either deal with the TMNT sideart the way it is, or paint it black...replacing the art on it is retardedly expensive, I gave up on the idea of doing it with mine way before I sold it(Something I thought I'd never do, but pins are more fun!).
Between two other cabs and/or a wall, you won't see most of it anyway.

A CP and Marquee, repro or not wouldn't set you back too much, it's the sideart that is the deal breaker.

I have MOST of an NOS sideart set for Sunset Riders, but I am still restoring my cabinet to a black TMNT cabinet because I would rather have that than a lesser title.
