Advice needed: New back glass makes new LED's look like crap

there is a big difference between a bgresto glass and a translite. ive bought bgresto glasses and they are about 95% close to original as far as how they backlight. ive made plenty of translights too, and they are way different( not in a good way) as far as being backlight with bulbs. its a vinyl translite, and will always look like one. by the time you spend the money on a translite, and expensive bulbs , you may just have well gone with a bgresto with much better results.

Just my personal opinion and you can take it or more likely leave it :)

I never put LED's in anything that's an EM. I know you're concerned about heat, but the reason the original heat was a problem was because they were using 44 bulbs, which are almost twice as hot as 47 bulbs. They left them on all day long for several years as the game was operated.

In a home environment, 47's will never hurt that backglass or that vinyl.

You replaced the backglass because you had to. Since you had no better options, you can't put led's back there and expect it to look good, it's too much of a frankenstein by that point to look anything like what a backglass is supposed to look like.

So put the 47's back in it, and then your lights will be right and your backglass will be slightly wrong. If you put led's then your lights will be slightly wrong and your backglass will be slightly wrong.

Just my opinion, these things are antiques and look like shit with LED's in them. 80's, 90's, 2000's games? Sure led them out if you want, but EM's look god awful with them. It's like putting spinners on a 57 Chevy.

I have found one use for LED's in an EM. In Fireball (and others I'm sure) under the upper arch the bulbs are in red tubes, in contact with the bulbs directly. These are usually completely faded to yellow with UV and age. Swapping these few bulbs to LED is basically un-noticable and should keep the tubes from breaking down too.
