I'm new here and nice to meet you all.
Apologies in advance for the duplicate post in the general technical help forum - I realized this particular game may be considered "mechanical".
I have 2 Konami Punch Mania Cabinets (Japanese Version), I'm sure all the experts here already know what it is...

I believe they are considered fairly rare, especially in the States. One of them is Version 1 and the other is Version 2 (Additional levels and multi-player support). Both of them are in good/fair working and playable condition, but each has its own pluses and flaws:

Pro:
- Overall boxing mechanism and cabinet in good/clean condition (all original parts)
Con:
- Monitor is fading and blurry
- Older software
Version 2 (http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9153):
Pro:
- Crystal clear screen
- Newer software
Con:
- Boxing mechanism has more wear and the hydraulics(?) are somewhat loose
- Cabinet relatively more worn out (punching pads repaired with red duct tape)
Anyway, I will be moving soon into a smaller place so I'm not sure if I could still afford space to house both cabinets. So, I am wondering if it'd be worthwhile to cherry pick the better condition parts and consolidate them into one machine. As far as I could tell the two cabinets are identical in terms of hardware and the software runs off a cd and could potentially be swapped. I have no electrical work experience of any kind so I'll probably need to find a local (southern california) technician to help me with this. Will such project cost me an arm and a leg?
Alternatively, if I had to choose one, which one should I take with me and which one would be easier/less expensive to repair? i.e. getting a new screen vs. tightening the hydraulics? At their current state, which one is more valuable?
