Advice needed - best color scheme for an Arkanoid: Revenge of DOH cabinet? Pics?

I know many ppl hate Arkanoid since so many classics were converted to it but I really like Arkanoid. :)

I plan on converting a Dynamo cabinet

into an Ark2

and was wondering if anyone had suggestions for color scheme? I was thinking white cab with light blue t-molding might look good, or maybe a light blue cabinet (like Pengo colored) maybe with white t-molding. Any ideas?

I'd like to make it a GREAT looking Arkanoid cabinet - anyone have pics of any *good* looking Arkanoid cabs?
This is a nice one but I don't like it in black:

I think a different color for the cab would make it look so much better

hard call, possibly black, aqua blue, red, white. Basically the colors in the art work. Or how about a two color scheme like many cabs have where the coin door area and the inside monitor area are one color and the sides of the cab are another?

I'm planning on doing the same thing. My thought was what if Taito released this in a dedicated cab like the Qix, Jungle Hunt, Elevator Action, etc. type.

I'm going with that cab with it's own dedicated color. Haven't decided on the color combination yet, but here are some examples:

Also, this cab will have a Jamma switcher in it and will be able to play all three Arkanoids. I have a custom bezel and marquee being created for it:

That's my control panel in the center of the bezel. The colored lines will match up from the CP all the way up through the marquee.

NICE! I like that idea. I too was going to make it switchable to play multiple different V spinner games though I had planned on just swapping PCBs by hand not via a switcher. I'm actually going to an arcade auction tomorrow - I may keep my eyes peeled for a small Taito cab :) I saw stencils are available for it - might not be too bad to paint custom.

Thanks!

My Photoshop skills suck, but based on Spyridon's artwork, here are two quick thoughts. Ignore the brown shading and the horizontal monitor. That's remnants from the Elevator Action image I used as the template.

I kinda like the second one that is based on the color of the ball in the marquee.

Nice work. What is nice about Arkanoid is that you can pick any color from the bricks as your base. I may go red and white, but again, haven't decided for sure.

I love Arkanoid, it's probably my all time favorite game. It's a bummer it only had generic crappy artwork. Doh art reminds me of Dr. Mario :p

I thought about this a lot too. I considered having the flyer blown up for sideart:

I also thought about the C64 box art, which i thought would look cool if the whole cab had that black/purple pattern:

But the one I favored the most was a space theme, since they always look good, and that is technically the location in the storyline. I saw this:

and thought that sideart with the Vaus spaceship was probably my favorite idea. Or maybe something based on the screen you see when you coin up and press start, just before the level shows...

Cab

I have a Qix cab I am using for mine and I am going to use the classic stencils from Prok for the side art. I am not sure what color I am going to use for the base yet but I am going to use 3 different colors for the stencils. Should look cool.

My suggestion is to not use the Taito artwork at all, but go with some custom full-side stencils that make the top of the cab the bricks, and as you go down there are more and more missing. Then a gradient color of some kind, with the vaus on top firing the ball. The word Arkanoid can be on top of the bricks.

Where can you find this art? I'm looking for the marquee, bezel and cpo in this color design.
