About a year ago I lucked into the guts of a Roby Roto. 2 sets of boards, harness, power supply, sound board bottom transformers and board - just everything. A couple of months later a marquee ended up in my possession. Fast forward to 3 months ago. An Astyanax game comes up on FB. Instantly recognize the cab as a Roby Roto. It's priced right, I send off a message, guy says it's available, then radio silence and the price jumps significantly. It then sits and sits and sits. Price doesn't budge so I figure it got sold but never deleted or might be for negotiation.
I message the guy and he still has it. I ask if he was negotiable on price. The dance begins. He says he's seen them sell for more online. I tell him I'm only interested in the cab, he can keep the board. We finally agree on a soft price and yesterday I go out to have a look.
It's not in great condition but it is an Oklahoma game so I wasn't expecting perfection.
He keeps the board and marquee translight, I grab the cab.
Today I started stripping off the black paint. I hate spray paint. I really really do.
Anyways, the start:
