Hey guys. I just picked up and Asteroids Deluxe. got it all back together, found a mirror (Thanks to CrazyGamer on here) and fired it up. I noticed some small glitches on the left hand side while playing and this happens on the high score initials entry screen.

I've checked the +5v and its good as well as reseated the socketed chips. Anyone know whatsit?

Bump.

Additional info, it looks like its partial vertical and partial hz collapse in the top left quadrant. Where would I start to look for failures?

I wanted to bring this thread back to life. I had Doug (crazygamer) plug my board into his AD and the game worked correctly. I dont know how to isolate if this is a power supply issure or a monitor issue? Any advise on what to check next? I have an asteroids I can swap parts with.

my AD was doing a little "jumping" or blooming with the screen size. pretty random and intermittent.

bob roberts told me my high voltage diode may have grease on it. if I cleaned it with alcohol, dried it off plugged her back in it would take care of it.

What does the test screen look like?

Test screen looks good, just like its supposed to.

I swap AR boards with my asteroids, tried to swap power bricks but they are not compatable, not sure why this is..

Here is a shot of the test screen.

I'd pull the monitor and test that on another working cab to rule it out. It does look like a monitor issue but the only way to verify is to try it in another working cab.

I did grab the monitor from my asteroids, no graphics issues when asteroids monitor hooked up.

Problem solved *DB100 bridge rectifier* Once I noticed the fuses blowing it was much easier to track the source of the problem. Pulled DB100 and it was faulty. Swapped with the one on the other chassis and all is well.

I didnt even think to look for a fuse since it was working for the most part. Guess that should be a lesson to me...

You misunderstood - I meant test the suspect AD monitor in another cab. Looks like it finally failed hard enough to lead you to the promised land.
