Ok, I was wondering if anyone has done this? If I had a print done for lets say - a bezel, and wanted to attach it to the back of glass - to be closer to the original, what kind of transparent glue could be used?
There has got to be something out there for this - I mean, think of it - you can buy window tint to see through that has some kind of an adhesive behind it.
I know theres something called modge podge out there that "crafters" use for similar things.
Just wondering if anyone has attmepted this - and what kind of results?
Id really hate to sandwich it in If I can avoid it. dont think it will be truly "flat".
Thanks!!
Jeff

This is how Il do my glass inkjet laminate repros
its first printed on a clear vinyl in reverse then screened with a white back
then floated on to glass like a water decal with rapidtac
The adhesive is on the back side of the printed vinyl.

Ive posted several examples and let Phet try it himself on his cabaret build

I had a whole post on this awhile back when I did the Spy HUnter Marquees and bezels
Ill see if I can dig up the link

Most recently I did Robotron marquee and bezels on glass though forgot to get pics before I shipped them :(

Something custom printed on nonadhesive clear vinyl (applied wet) should work well.

How would that stick? Once it dries would it not just fall off?

Us can use water with a drop of dish washing detergent then move it around where you want it then squeegee it out and let it dry. Even though it gets wet the adhesive it still on there and will become sticky again when it dries

It's actually not adhesive. You can apply it dry, the water just eliminates bubbles.

He sed there is no adhesive on it. So that would mean you are relying on static to make it stick.

yeah I dont get it why use a vinyl without adhesive??
are you reffering to a static cling??

Like I said the clear vinyl I print has adhesive on the reverse side
which is why you need to print the image in reverse
but since most inkjets dont print white. I screen the backs white.

Yeah, you need adhesive. After the water/alcohol mixture evaporates, the adhesive takes hold. All 3 of these pieces were reverse printed and stuck to the backside of plexi, which is the same concept:
