Hey hopefully this is the right section and someone might know how to do this. My uncle has a 60in1 that had a 19" LCD that went out. He wants me to put an extra 19" PC monitor to replace it, but he doesnt want to add an addition power button for the monitor. Just wants to plug the game in and for the monitor to turn on.

Is there a way to do this? Its a dell monitor. Ive tried searching google and havent found anything.

Sometimes they do this automatically.

Sometimes you can tape down the power button which will cause them to do that.

Sometimes there is a setting that allows that.

Sometimes nothing will make it do that.

I seem to remember ( like 8 or 9 years ago), I pulled the button off and soldered the 2 points together. It worked well. That was a computer CRT IIRC.

Usually Dells will auto power on.

Of course make sure the monitor is on when machine is powered off. It remembers if it was on or off. Will not power back on automatically if it was in the off state.

I always wondered if that would work.

Ill have him try it out. I had a dell CRT years ago and I remember it didnt, but will test this one out.

Thanks guys
