Adding accent lighting

Looks like it would tap into the GI circuit, which runs pretty much everywhere in a machine.

Just be careful though, a lot of machines can barely survive the amperage already going through that circuit..... even a couple extra bulbs can push it over the edge. I always recommend going with #47 bulbs or LED's, this would make it even more important to do so.

What machine ???? and why ????

High Speed- just want some custom lighting in the back and on the ramp, I probably wont do it but these are things I think about when playing, "if I add some light here to light this up," etc. I never "tapped into a power source so thats why I'am asking "how to" do it. Thanks

This man speaketh the truth. Replace EVERY #44 with #47. Temporarily connect your rope light (or whatever) and put your DMM on the GI circuit and play having someone else watch the DMM readings to ensure you're not crossing that fine line. One of the main reason connectors got/get cooked was/is due to pulling too much juice.

Ya not gonna do it, thanks for the replies. I have replaced 44 to #47 except for 3 (the 3 44's are in the back of the playfield and 47's were not bright enough) Have LED's under all inserts and a few green frosted ones in the G.I, red frosted Led's down by the flippers under the ball guides. 47's and some led's behind the backglass. Need to get some LED's for the pop-bumpers, was gonna try frosted, or 170 degree type. I tried coin takers 4+1 pop-bumper LED's and they broke putting in the sockets in the pop-bumper, they sent me more and they broke too. The top of the 4+1's are not on good and the tops just twisted off VERY easily. Think I'll try frosted red's what do you thing? Or cool white? The caps are clear red. Thanks

I hate when games have 44's replaced w/ 47's ....44's look soooo much better and brighter, and in moderate home use, 44's aren't gonna screw anything up.

Depends on the machine, on a System 7-11 Williams the GI connectors on the power supply burn up real easy. Worse on the system 7's, but still a problem on both.

I would not put 44's in my back glass, it does get real hot to the touch when my machine was on for an hour with them in , 47's a bit warm. But for the playfield, I agree 44's are nice and bright, Which is why I left a few in the back corners on the freeway (HS) so I can see.
