Is it as easy as removing the pots and soldering in the remote wiring? I've been trying to get a certain number of remote-versions running, and am coming up a couple short. I don't know if there is any other modification that needs to be done. Figure someone has done this already...

i do not see why it would not work if you compare a chassis that has a remote board setup and a non setup the layout is the same just extended to the remote board.

plus on a sanyo that is all they do for the H-Hold and sound on the cocktail versions.

Not sure if you noticed, but the ones with remotes have additional throughholes for the pots for whatever reason. I had to turn a remote one into a stationary one cause I didnt have the remote pots, but had the other kind from a dead chassis and was confused slightly. The solder pad arrangement is weird on the remote chassis.

I had to do the reverse as I had a 7689 chassis missing the control board, so I just soldered the pots back into the board. But do need to build a new one ;)

The schematic of the external control board, which would work with other 7000 series is here http://jrok.com/xfer/monitors/19k7689_control_board.pdf

As you can see it's just taking the pot wiring out on a cable. The dots at the bottom show the location on the monitor chassis that the headers were soldered into.

I'm going to scan the control board and do a clone PCB layout.
Also from testing a 10K on v-pos and a 200K for v-hold worked fine.

I did some comparing of the 25" schematic with remote against the K7000 manual (19" schematic with no remote) and it looks like it hooks up to the circuits pretty much the same with the exception of a different size Vert Hold pot and an extra resistor in the circuit for Vert Size - but I need to compare it to an actual 25" K7000 without remote to make sure it's just not a discrepancy between 19" and 25"...
