I have a 36pin edge connector. I need to populate a pin that currently has no
connector in the harness, what do i need to do this. I am not sure what the connector
that goes into the harness is called. i assume its some kind of crimp connector like
you would see on a molex connection but i am not sure what its called and where to buy
them.

any help greatly appreciated. the connector is a cherry master harness if that helps

Nope, "Trifurcon" pins are for PIN connectors, not edge connectors. They're called "TRIfurcon" because they make contact on 3 sides of the pin. (And FWIW, Trifurcon is a trademark of Molex).

Assuming the connector in quesion is not a solder-eyelet type, and that's it's Molex (vice AMP), then what you need is a "bifurcated" terminal, Molex P/N 08-03-0304.

Ed at GPE sells them here: http://www.greatplainselectronics.com/Category-80.asp
Bob Roberts also sells them. They're also available from Mouser. Get them while you can, as they're apparently being discontinued.

Oh, and you'll need a crimper. If you just need one, try to find someone local to crimp it for you. However, Ed also sells crimpers (further down the page linked above) if you want to buy some.

Any marking on the plug at all? Need to determine if AMP or Molex or 'other'.
