is it possible? thinkin about LCDs for a monitor and dont want that extra cord to plug in outside the cab

Most power supplies don't supply 120v... just 5v, 12v etc. But you CAN cut the plug off the end of your LCD and wire it directly to the incoming AC...or I suppose you could wire a plug outlet to the very same incoming AC and plug the LCD in to the outlet.

You should be able to daisy chain a set of wires from the switcher and wire them to an outlet. Just make sure all of the wires are capable of handling whatever amperage the LCD draws.

Another option would be to splice into the wires going to the marquee.

Most video game power supplies follow a simple basic setup:
* AC power in
* line filter
* switch
* fuse
* transformer (or switcher)

If you tap off of the AC input side of the transformer (or switcher) you can run a set of wires over to a junction box and put a wall socket plate into it. I have done this in several cabinets where I have replaced the old CRT that required an isolation transformer with a newer one (Vision Pro, newer WG, etc.). I normally leave the old isolation wiring in place, in case I need to switch back at some point. Junction box + wall switch plate + cover are about $3-$4 all together from WallyWorld.

Why not remove the isolation transformer then use the existing monitor power connector for the lcd?? You could probably leave the iso in there but not sure if that lcd would have any issues. Shouldnt but better to be safe than sorry.

Because it is easy enough to add a switched outlet so you don't have to mess with the LCD power cord and you still have the isolation transformer with the original monitor power cord in case you ever want to switch back.

Mmmmm, having cake and eating it too!!!!!

If thats what he want he could simply add an outlet to the existing monitor power plug and there would be no modifications to the original harness. The old service outlets work good for this.

In most games, the service outlets are not switched. The OP wanted a way to turn the monitor on at the same time he turned the game on. Hence, tap into the iso transformer input side, run 3 wires (hot, neutral & ground) to a junction box. The power switch now controls a second set of plugs, one of which can be used for the LCD. No need to mess with the existing iso wiring. If it runs the marquee light and the CRT monitor plug than everything is there to convert it back if a new CRT monitor becomes available.

What I was saying is use one of those outlets....nevermind, who cares.

This is what I do. Install the outlet behind the on/off switch wires, so the monitor turns off and on with the cab.
