added footage of CAX to the Video Craze !

Yes, please tell me that Mark was playing his own machine and it wasn't at CAX. Playing with your feet is impressive but kinda nasty, especially if its a public machine. I suppose he'll be getting a glove for his foot too.

People's hands are much nastier than someone's foot.
Think about all the stuff hands are out and exposed to throughout the day, especially if they aren't practicing good hygiene after the bathroom.

Great video !

...and your music selection reads like my CD collection

( Jean-Michel Jarre... who knew ! )
[ ...all you needed was a bit of Kraftwerk Electric Cafe ! ]

I really liked the Williams video row ... that's what I want when I grow up !

as for that guy playing Marble Madness with his feet,
... remind me to skip playing that machine...

Great work.

Thanks for sharing.

(...4000 miles away from CAX , ... somewhere up in Canada... ! )

nice !!!

i love jean michel jarre !!
there were a ton of choices of music to go with, but jarre fit in like a glove.
than's everyone for the props. :)

great update to the video craze davey!

as always... bravo man.

love the new santa cruz boardwalk footage, love all the cax footage, great interview with mike (wish i coulda made that meetup). his game setup is looking real good.

heh, who is that good looking guy interviewing mark alpiger ;)

Great video! It was nice to see a little glimpse of my Gyruss in there. I had a lot of fun just watching people enjoy playing it at the show. Definitely makes me want to try to bring down more next year. Looking forward to the cax video!

Varkon

If I saw a Varkon for sale, I'd snatch that thing up quick.

I've heard several people comment that they'd buy Varkon if they saw one for sale. Maybe if the price was cheap, but I'm not sure many people would actually shell out the going rate. I sold a beautiful restored one for $3250 about a year ago (with one other serious buyer if that person fell through). But I did have about 20 "I'll give you $500 for it" buyers. I also had a couple people email me to say a fair price was $4000+ (so maybe I made the buyer a good deal after all).

I have a pending deal to get another, maybe we'll see if the demand really is there.

Varkon is cool, but not that cool IMO. A mini pin that you control flippers w/ sticks for 4G's? I'll pass, and play it at CAX once a year ;)

Yes, it's over-rated for sure, as far as $$cost. Just not enough action.
Pretty difficult to get the ball in the main chute with the right flipper... gotta do the combo back-hand to have enough power...

The bonus second playfield bonus is lame... That being said, I was addicted for a while. Almost got a mill.:D

After teasing me about my addiction for the entire year, I was somewhat surprised to find you addicted this year! I was bummed by the number of times the ball would 'almost' make it to the main chute to get into the bonus area... but that is part of the addiction! "Next time I'm gonna get it!" I could listen to the sounds of the ball being launched for hours at a time too... cool sound effects for sure!

I still love that game! I heard the going rate for it was $3,000. That is something I'd be willing to do - even though I've been told not to... so keep me in mind when you get another one!

But back on topic - great video footage!! The only part I didn't like was Laughing Sal from Santa Cruz Boardwalk... that thing was freaky!! Looking forward to your CAX video footage as well!

it's actually pretty rare. Pretty sure he was joking. If not he missed a prime opportunity to make a ton of cash at that auction.

Shit, and I should have known that Steve was joking. I have an excellent excuse for being so dim yesterday, I had spent all morning since 5am building my own set of 2011 legislative code by crunching house and senate bills that have been signed into law for changes to statutes when the new year arrives. My head yesterday felt like it would break open at any minute and leave a mess for my wife and kids to find when they came through the door.

I like Varkon. I think the novelty of owning one almost warrants likely asking prices.

Dim indeed!

I can't recall the exact number but Williams only manufactured 90 or so of the Varkon games. The physics are just bizarre with a plexi playfield and everything reversed when viewed through the mirror. Great twist but obviously not a commercial success. It's an amazing little pin that takes up very little floor space and way more interesting than a say a Tim Clark cocktail pin regardless of what Brian thinks. ;-)
