Cointaker offers a kit.

yes, and so does marco.

i was hoping to find out if anyone has experimented with their own combinations and the result.... ass opposed to a stores interpretation of what it should be.

Match the LED colors to the insert...except for yellow and possibly orange...use white for yellow inserts. For orange inserts you can use orange or white LEDs...just a matter of preference.

Words of wisdom:

Do not buy a kit...you end up paying 3x more than if you just bought the LEDs individually.
Do not use some ridiculously bright LEDs like Abalze 3 under all the inserts. Less is more, brighter is not better. You want the inserts to pop, not blind the player.

I've got a few machine that I have been debating going LEDs on. These are great comments and confirms what I thought about: LED kits are expensive ; and what LED colors should go under what inserts. It should help for me not overbuying bulk LEDs that aren't needed.

I think blue inserts should benefit the most (they tend to wash out over time)

Glad I could help. LEDs look really good in many games if done right. Problem is that so many people think "the brighter, the better" and it looks so blinding and tacky. I can totally understand why some people hate LEDs if they were only exposed to games like this.

If you match colors to inserts, besides yellow, you will do fine. Yellow LEDs are not even yellow, they are more like amber, and make a yellow insert look brownish. White will make a yellow insert pop nicely though.

Fantastic information!!!!! Thank You!!!!!

Just watch out...blue LEDs don't always match a blue insert the way you think they will. I'll get some pics uploaded later tonight and show you what I mean. At least with the Ablaze ones, it's a very specific shade of blue that I wasn't expecting. I grew to like it in my Pinbot and Shuttle, but it wasn't what I was expecting.

*Edit* It can cost a bit more, but ordering samples from PBL/Cointaker is something I would consider too...you don't want to have to ship back a bunch you don't like, or have to try to sell them and take a bath.
