Ok having a problem with upper right flipper.when game starts it will energize. I can't seem to find what trans controls it. Someone said to look on fliptronics board . But this game does not have one. Only extra board in backbox for game with 3/4 flippers .any other help. Thanks

The Fliptronics board is usually the very left one on the top row. It will have fuses F901-904 on the right side of the board.

Yes your game has a fliptronics board.

Manual has the information you need.

Or the game can tell you. Pull the fuse for the flipper holding up on the fliptronics board, or all of them if you aren't sure.

Then go into tests, it will be in solenoids or flipper test ( not sure which one is in your game ) stop on the flipper not working there will probably be two, power and hold, then hit the start button, and then start hitting the + diagnostic button - this will step you through coil, wires, connector, fuse, and transistor number.

LTG :)

Looking through test and there is not one for flippers only . Not under solenoids either .looked at Manuel on line but copy was bad hard to read.flipper energizes without even starting a game.

Like Lloyd said, pull the fuse for the upper right flipper (F902) on the Extra Flipper Supply Board. Then go into test. I would start with the switch test just to rule out a stuck switch.

well it is not a stuck switch it test fine.there must be a certain trans on the cpu board that is shorted? just trying to locate the one it is. there is no test like described in the post by ltg that i can find?

It's almost certainly the TIP102 or TIP36 transistor (or both) controlling this flipper. These look like black square with 3 pins each (the 36 is much larger than the 102) and there are a pair for each of the 4 flippers on that auxiliary board.

You mean the flipper is stuck up when you turn the game on? Could it be as simple as your leaf switch is out of adjustment?

I had this happen last night. My first day of my first pin, and my first fix. I had the playfield pulled up looking through everything and then looked over to the flipper button to make sure it wasn't mechanical. The screw holding the metal leaf was loose and the flipper button had knocked the leaf out of adjustment so that the flipper was constantly activated. I put the metal leaf back in place, tightened the screw, problem fixed.

If you stepped through tests in diagnostics, I don't know how you missed it.

Tests -

T.12 Flipper Coil

T.12 05 U.R. Flip Power
T.12 06 U.R. Flip Hold

Then do the steps like I posted before to find information.

Q2 is the transistor for power, Q7 is the transistor for hold. One or both of these is bad.

Both of these transistors are on your fliptronics board.

Open up the head of your game. Remove translite and glass, swing open the wood panel with all the light bulbs.

Now standing at the front of your game like you were going to play a game - look at the circuit boards in the head - see the top board left side ? Upper left hand corner ? That is your fliptronics board.

If you are having trouble understanding this, or have never done circuit board repair, then now is the time to get help to fix your game so you don't damage anything.

+1 And for clarity, I am not trying to be "short or rude" with you, but if you have not done board work in the past, now is not the time to learn (in my opinion). To my knowledge, no one is reproducing these boards (yet).

ok was missing the fliptronic brd. dont know how,was to fixed on the extra flipper board.I have done board work , will be no problem changing out a couple of trans.thanks for the help and info
