my start/credit button light wasn't working on my TAF, so i started poking at it. first i figured it might be a bad bulb, so i started to take the thing apart. this is a WLL-20-9663-1. after taking the microswitch off, with a little twist, the plastic lamp housing came out.
replaced the lamp, and it still doesn't work, so i'll be checking the wiring upstream (already checked, and the leads are getting no voltage under lamp test), but that's not my question.
my question is how to get the lamp holder back into the assembly, and make it stick. it doesn't appear that it stays by itself - no tabs, no twist in, etc. is there some adhesive i should put on it to make it stick (that will come off if i need to replace the bulb at a later date)? i'm thinking maybe there was just an old dab of glue on it before, and just twisting it a bit broke it free, so that's what i need to replace. it seems an odd design to have a bulb behind something that doesn't twist/screw/tab in, but that's what it's looking like to me right now.
