This weekend I was playing AD and slowly the monitor just faded to black. I assume cap kit will resolve this and was looking for some pointers (HV Cap kit, Flyback?, specific cap that went bad?) before I pull the monitor out.

Long story short took it on trade towards a ROTJ, this past Sat from a decent KLOV'r. This is the one I used to own and regretted selling when I moved.

Have you played with any of the pots yet? (brightness, contrast)
Had a Battlezone that would do this and it was just a bad brightness pot flaking out.

I would check the fuses and the molex down on the PCB that feeds it power… If it's a V2000, it could be the caps in the spotkiller circuit, too.

Reflow all the header pins on the deflection board. Mine faded just like yours and it was cold solder joints there

I recently did a pot kit on this monitor and fixed a few of my issues, including dimmness, the contrast pot was bad, cheap fix and will really allow you to tune it in, along with the other suggestions..

Fixed for now...I went to diagnose the monitor and low and behold it worked. I am not believiing it repaired itself and will be pulling it to replace the POTS and reflow the pins.
