Just noticed this message on the Action Electronics site:

"Action Electronics has ceased operations effective today, 07/26/10 due to economic reasons."

Not that it affects me, because they didn't ship internationally, but I've seen their name come up a bit in these forums so thought it may be of interest.

slightly off topic but as you're a NZ'er, i have been trying to find a website in NZ that i looked at that had kits, in particular one that had a video matrix switcher kit using a Maxim ic. wasnt a shopfront that i recall, not dick smith or one of the chains, just a kits website. damned if i could find it again - any ideas to whom i am referring to ?

Those guys wouldn't even ship to Canada. At the rate I seem to break electronics stuff, maybe I could have kept them in business if they had. :p

I had never heard of that place before. Some of the prices I just checked seemed high, but it is probably like any of those places... You really need to price shop at various locations for each item. When looking for a low-cost logic probe with audible output I found the following site and have ordered from them several times.
