I completely rewiring my street fighter 2 cab and need help with the ac wiring, keep in mind I am not using a real arcade monitor i am just using a pc crt monitor and a video computer due to cost issues its cheaper. i made this diagram below on how i think i can do it, can someone please confirm this will be ok

yes i was reading on there, i would just like for someone to confirm my diagram just so i know i understand it right

Well, if you refer to the diagram at the bottom of Bob's page, you'll see some differences between his diagram and yours.

yes just a couple changes, you dont a need a distribution block and my inline filter is after the switch and no isolation transformer is not need for pc monitor

And your hot and ground are reversed on the filter in your diagram.

Yours looks fine. Some people would tap the "earth" ground to the power supply, but it's not needed.

I would move your fuse to go before the on/off switch. Right now, if your switch gets damaged and shorts out, you'll have unfused household AC going through there.

LMAO, "Paint-o"

I use Bobs diagram as well. I would suggest a distribution block and moving fuse in front of everything.

yes i moved the fused in line first and here are some pics, looks like it works, the marquee light comes on and i just used the power supply terminals for a power distribution type deal, still need to order a new jamma harness and video converter and wire it up

Shazaam!
I always wonder about having the fuse, with its exposed contacts, just sitting there on the bottom of the cab. I've seen it piles of times, but I always think there should be something covering it (plastic or even a folder piece of cardboard), just to stop a loose screw from shorting it out, or your arm from brushing against it.

cheers

yeah i got plastic cover i plan on putting over it

Are you using a PC running MAME with a computer CRT? If so why not just throw a power strip in there? What are you using the switcher for?

Other than that your wiring looks good.

no its a regualr street fighter 2 pcb, im just using a crt monitor because i had a old 19 inch and a video converter for it is only 35$ and allot cheaper than buying used or new arcade monitor, so when i flick the one switch everything cuts on and same as it was before with regular arcade monitor
