Hi, I'm Nick, from Akron. I've always wanted to get into the arcade scene but never lived anywhere that would've allowed such a hobby. Now that I have my own house, I felt like it was a good time to wet my feet, so I went ahead and bought this gem

It's a game I love and for $200 I didn't feel like it was much of a risk. I have to admit, I know absolutely nothing about these and that's why I've come here. It lights up great, and sounds great, but I can't seem to get it to play. This forum seems to be full of genuine, knowledgeable enthusiasts, and I'll be asking advice on some well covered paths I'm sure, but I'll do my best to find answers in older posts and threads. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Hey welcome fellow Ohioan, I'm moving near Akron myself in a few weeks here. :D Sorry to hear about your game, not sure which one it is, your picture doesn't seem to be working for me.

Edit: Never mind now I see it! Great looking Ghosts 'n Goblins cab, sorry the controls don't work. Not sure if you've done this yet, but maybe pop the control panel and see if all the microswitches are hooked up correctly?

Hope you enjoy Akron, it's definitely a mixed bag...

I'll be pulling it apart this weekend when I have more time. Just wanted to say hi!

Thanks amigo! I'm sure it'll be better than the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania where I used to live haha. Sorry about the suggestion thought you were asking for advice. I need to start reading more thoroughly. :/

Anyway, hope you can get some more good deals and get your cab up and running perfectly too. Just don't take ALL of the good deals haha. ;)

Haha I think my last post just didn't come across well, I was asking for help. I might already be purchasing another game depending on its condition lol. And thanks for the advice!

I am only guessing, are you putting quarters in the game trying to get a "credit" or as we call it, coin up? See the link below and set your dip switches to Free Play. If it still doesn't work go to the video games general repair and help forum and they will get you going. Welcome and good luck. Good job on the price too.

Welcome. I'm fairly new here myself and have to say these guys don't hesitate to help out! This is a great place to learn and fix up old coin-op games. Best of luck to you on that game. From the picture, I think you got a killer deal, especially one with which to start on.

Haha no problema. Hope you get another rad game. :D Also hope everything gets sorted out with Ghosts 'N Goblins.

Welcome to the forum!

You will find more help with your problem by posting it in the repair section.

Welcome to the hobby. I also live in Akron. Did you end up getting the game to work? It's probably something really simple.

No, actually I haven't gotten it working yet. I haven't really had too much time to look at it lately, and it looks like getting to the control panel is going to be a pain in the ass with the way the monitor sits. I called a member of this board who might come check it out next week so hopefully he can get it figured out.

You open the control panel thru the coin door. It should have latches and then the panel will just fold open. Most of them are hinged on. Either that or it will have 2 bolts with wing nuts on them.

Moved from akron(Ellet) to jax 2 years ago. Nice purchase. If you decide to sell send me a pm. Lots of family and friends in Ohio and make a few trips a year!

Weird, I just moved to Ellet from Hudson haha.

I finally got it working! I had some time this weekend to really sit down with it, give it a good cleaning, and go over the manual. Apparently their DIP Switch settings are all reversed. Glad I found someone's note about that!

Even with 7 lives and unlimited continues I can't make it past the 2nd stage :-(

Haha, it's amazing how difficult some of these games can be. I still can't get anywhere on Super Hang-On with it set to easy and extra time. Nice game you got though.

Cool that you got it going. Welcome to the sickness. Hope you got lots of room. They breed while left alone. Pm me if you change mind and decide to sell. I will be passing through on way to mi race in 2 weeks! Lol
