I'm astounded with myself .... truly amazed that I played 2 games last night that I haven't touched in 8 months or better.

Absence of 8 months DK2 - Forgotten I changed it to 3 lives (instead of the original 5 which I used to make my HS). Almost beat my HS - came in with a new #2 HS using 3 lives. Wow.
Absence of a year for MsPacman speed hack - Pulled 187,000. while this was a meager #9 score I still made the scoreboard.

Is that the trick? Don't play your games and rack up nice scores? :D

Anyone else have this happen to them?

I had that happen with Frogger... hadn't played it in months then went back and got past the 5th board for the first time, and now I can do that regularly.

No, Abstinence makes the hands grow stronger.

Damnit. I was going to reply to this thread specifically to make that same statement.

Haha but to be back on topic, I find that I always top my high scores if I take a few weeks/months break. I just scored 77K on my Centipede after not playing it since the 4th of July. Thats my highest ever.

I have noticed on some games I find it true.

I used to notice on PC games all the time... I would play Unreal Tournament all the time and not get any better... then, I would stop playing for months on end, and my friends would keep going. When I finally picked them up again, I ended up on top

I hadn't played DK in months and reached 190k on my first life down at CAX. That was with a terrible joystick too. I haven't played mine yet to see if I will do well. May try to beat my best score in the next week or two. It has been a while.
