Sometime this year will mark 10 years since I got my first cabinet. I've thought of getting rid of it a few times, and lost interest for a while but i still have it (for now) and thanks to this place 6-7 others. I found an old picture from January of 2004 (maybe earlier that was the date on the file) and it made me wonder how long it's been for some of you guys.

Brief cabinet history: This is a Spider-man converted to Alien Vs Predator by the local Namco Cyberstation. They were getting rid of it and luckily a friend of a friend worked there and my buddy took it home. Years later still non working it sat (no pcb to be found and the harness was completely hacked). Buddies father wanted it out of the basement any way necessary; i was more than glad to help. We loaded it up into his parents minivan and off to my house it went where i proceeded to source a PCB and new harness for the machine.

Always wanted to buy arcade games. Got around to it nov 2010. My first pick up was a nice moon patrol on ebay. That game is special to me and will never be sold by me.
Learned alot in thes 2 short years!

My first game was a Final Fight (Phoenix cabinet) in July 2001. Doesn't seem like that long ago.

If I could search old usenet forums, I could probably find out when I started collecting. I think I have some old atari 8bit discs where I saved some posts. My best guess is like 82-83. It was food fight and then a few weeks later space duel cocktail. Both at fleamarkets.

holy crap, anyone that bought games in the 80's is pretty hardcore in my book.
It wouldn't have occurred to me that you COULD! but then again, I was just a young-en....

only been about 3 or so years for me....

I've owned a pinball machine since the early 80's (1982?), but I didn't really start collecting until around 1995 (finished grad school) when I bought some more pins. Started collecting classic vids in 1997 I believe.
