Hi all,

Been looking for a donor replacement for my Defender (has K7000) and located a possible candidate. It is a 19" Philips 19PS50S121 TV which according to parts lists has a A48EJP03X110 CRT.

I need to have it shipped but before I pull the trigger wanted to know if anyone has any info on this CRT such as neck size, resistance measurements? Basically trying to figure out if it would be compatible with the K7000.

Thanks,

Tim

Why are you having a tube shipped?

There are plenty of 19" black plastic case tvs around.. Check tag sales, goodwill, etc. You prolly need a skinny neck tube, which is one of the easiest tubes to find as they were in most 90s tvs.. If the one your looking to have shipped also has a yoke, you won't know the ohm readings until its been delivered... Or maybe the seller can measure it for you.. 2.5-3 and 10-12 is what you need for a k7000.

I find these tubes all the time locally..

2.5-3 and 10-12 is what you need for a k7000.

that is the average range you should go for.

but you can get away with .8-5.0 and 7.0-14.0 without having to do a yoke swap.

also as mentioned you will also need to know what neck size the doner TV has.

and as said check around on trash nite and the local junk/thrift stores for a TV rather than shipping dead weight for nothing. and possibly the tube breaking in shipping.

here is an example i just did.
it is the very limits of what i would push the chassis and yoke combo to tho.

dont ship a tv. local craigslist, yardsales, or garbage day are great finds for old 19 inch tv's. I have found many drop in tvs doing this.

Great video man. Makes me feel like even more of a nerd that I enjoy watching other tube swap vids.. Ha!

I did pick up one hell of a tip from your vid.. Can't believe i didn't just figure it out on my own.. Tube spacers!!

Couple weeks ago I was going nuts trying to swap in a donor tube for a game I was about to sell.. Must have tried half a dozen tubes and frames, finally found one that worked but was tight.. Damn simple spacer would have saved me a good few hours of wasted time.. Thanks

Here is my tip, as in the vid the wires were just twisted together..
Use butt connectors (male & female) for the black ground wire. Just makes it easier to service later on, and less of a chance of popping apart.. But you prolly do this at the end anyway :)

G07's and also 4900's use the larger neck I think, among others. I would save it.

what should the ohms reading be for a 4900 ? are they 10 pin?

swap neckboards on the 7000 and should work fine with those readings.

that was only for the video on my test rig.
it was changed before it was put into the game.

yup change neck boards and you can use that tube with your K7000.

As for the shipping, the tube is about an hours drive away. I wanted to know everyone's opinion on if it would even work in a K7000 before I went to get it.

I do have a full monitor currently:
picture.php

Just that my tube has some bad burn marks as the previous owner swapped it from a different game.

So the TV tube can be used if I swap the neck board?

we can only give you a yes or know if you provide the things i asked for about the other tube in my first post.

it may be usable but if we do not have this info you may have to do some swapping of parts.

didn't mean to hijack your thread tas I figured I would ask questions because we have the same tube so it would benefit for both of us :)
