A Trio of Games to Restore - Tron - Battlezone - Tempest
I recently aquired a trio of games just by happenstance. It always seems that when you want another game to restore they come in threes, but not all in one package, usually one by one in succession.
All three were in non-working order because the owner started the three projects over 4 years ago by taking parts of each game out to fix them and put them in a box as a project to get to later and never got back them. I found wires unplugged for no reason, inginiters removed from the light fixtures for no reason, PCB boards removed, monitors just sitting in the cabs.
When I purchased the games the owner would not let me plug in any of the games. I found out why later when I started to move them. All of the power supplies were unscrewed from the base of each cab and just sitting there with loose or dissconnected connectors.
Along with the games came boxes, and I do mean boxes, of extra parts, Bob Roberts repair kits (new unopened kits), spare parts for each game.
I plan on keeping all the games and the parts. The original owner did not metion that he had all the extra parts. I was on the fence about purchasing the games because I could not power up the games, but when he added all of the parts at now extra cost, I could not pass up a deal to get all three games in one shot. Now comes the enjoyment of bringing them back to life one wire and screw at a time.
