A "Thank You" Would Be Nice!!

If it was someone young then I blame it on the lack of face-to-face communication that goes on these days. I think the younger generation just sees the internet as a big black box where you feed your question and get your answer and go on your merry way.

My kids don't do Facebook or texting or any of that stuff and won't until they are much older because I want them to learn the basics of human relationships and interacting in real life first.

Yesterday a member put up a Thread that he needed help locating part #'s for his Stern Machine and really needed help since he couldnt locate the manual nowhere.I sent him a PM asking him what he needed help with and that i have a manual and i would be more than glad to help out.It took me about 30 mins. looking for all the part #'s for this guy and PM them back to him and Stern manuals are not like bally or williams they are cluttered with stuff.Til now i havent heard back from him not a hello, Thank you,NOTHING!.This just makes it worse for someone else who needs help and wont have me wondering if im just wasting my time. Thanks,Mike

Just maybe this scumbag hasn't been online to check his PM's since yesterday?

I agree that a "thank you" is the right thing to do. I also think people often have different habbits about checking their PMs and whatnot. I may not check the site for a few days, especially on the weekends.

The other thing I don't like is when people don't follow up on solutions to problems that get fixed. People will starting a thread, get advice on how to fix the problem, and then dissapear. It's a huge help to others if you follow up and say "thanks, that worked great!" or "no, it's still not working".

My money's on him not checking his PM. I've have KLOV's notifications synched to my Blackberry, so if you PM me- unless I'm sleeping- I'm on it like stink on a monkey.

I think a lot of guys, however, only check in a few times a week.

Ill give you a thank you. THANK YOU.

Thank you for helping them, pinman.

And I think I already did say thanks but I will thank Robotron again for fixing my Robotron board when I had the game. :D

I get this alot, more on my Rich graphix end than I do here/ TOG
though there are some that when you send a sample or free stuff
I seldom get feedback let alone a thank you.

but from my Band side is far worse.
I did a rush order on a custom drumhead for a band that Ive been working with for a long time, and They got booked to be on the David Letterman show so not only did I rush
out a custom print in a matter of days for them. I sent an extra drumhead at no charge
incase they had any problems they'd have a back up before going on national TV.
The band went on the drumhead looked kick ass and I never heard back or got a thanks.

theyve ordered since but my days of giving are over for those guys.

I sometimes have the opposite problem. I'll post a thread thanking someone or commending someone on a good deal and they don't thank me for thanking them. How can I get them back? Publicly thanking them again for not thanking me for thanking them in the first place?

The double-thank-bank is encouraged but not required by the rules of ettiquet. Tripple-thank-banks are frowned upon as insincere and wasteful.

Has the douche-bag posted since? Or has he just been on the forums lurking?

Maybe he isn't getting notice that he has a PM?

I don't notice mine half the time, popup blocker...

Unless I look up there, which I rarely do, I wouldn't know unless I check my email...which I rarely do!

I don'nt know what is wrose no THANKYOU? or a Post about someone *CRYING* They did'nt get one. I have thanked everyone that has helped me over the years. Does'nt matter if they where just helping me out with fixing a game or Selling me a Part . They still got the same thanks in Return.

I'm gunna nip this in the bud for me...

THANK YOU GOES OUT TO ANY AND ALL WHO HAVE HELPED ME OR WILL HELP ME IN THE FUTURE! YOU ARE LOVED AND APPRECIATED.
