A sad Space Duel

Space Duel rocks loved it when I was a kid and still love playing it today. Mine had been converted to a twin hawk with the help of others I was able to bring it back. If your is beyond repair I'll take the marque brakerts. But if it can be saved I hope you will fix it.

I'm guessing you picked the one up that was on San Antonio CL?

I thought about getting that one... but I figured it would be too much of a project for me.

That is the one. The cabinet is trashed. Once again, the pics online made it look better than it was in person.

There's currently one at Flynn's Arcade. It was in excellent shape with a great-looking monitor. It saw lots of action, too.

Awaiting your pictures; need a good cry.

I have a nice one I rescued and have working.

Going to part the latest SD today. Will take pics. It is sad that it is so water damaged.

I probably go overboard with this, but water damage is my pet peeve when it comes to this hobby. I like solid, always-dry cabinets that don't have flecks of particle board raining down every time someone nudges the game, and don't have those awful-looking swollen sides / corners. I just passed on a Tempest mini locally `cause it was listed as having water damage - and it didn't even look that bad.

Restored cabinets that have had water damage fixed are okay, but I'd still rather have one that's never been wet.

Boy here we going again more Killings and being Picky about games. Just get them and Enjoy them while they are still around.

It's starting too get really sad coming here . What happened too restoring a Game ?

Restoration generally takes time and patience that I admit I don't have. Instead, I pay well for machines that are in good shape.

For me, it's just like collecting old cars. I really don't need to be messing around with clunkers when I can buy solid examples. *shrug*

Some pics.

Yeah....that's far beyond worth saving. Even if someone wanted to patch in here and there and bondo, it would be crap. If Space Duel cabinets were rare, I might suggest building a replacement cabinet for it. If it were a Quantum, I'd definitely keep every screw and build a replacement cabinet.

too bad texas and ohio are so far apart. I make a really nice birch replacement cab!

Just think how easy it would be to work on since the coin door panel comes right off!!

To boot no over heating with the nice vent hole at the top! :D
