Sad indeed. Even gutted cabinets are too good to throw away unless they are rotted beyond repair. I'd love to have a few more cabinets to restore. Sure beats building from scratch.

wow.... sad. Great to see an actual arcade just in the wrong context...ugh.
Looks like the bump-n-jump has a monitor and Mad Planets has a harness... I bet they're complete. Did you examine further?

yeah. you should've tried to snag shit. i would've.

edit - looks like they were just put in the dumpster, doesn't look like either of those cabs got really beat up at all.

I was able to get some parts ;). Most of the games were loaded. The bottom of the games were trashed from moving them. The guys at the landfill were very cool. I was up dumping grass from yard work. Because the cabs were trashed I could only get parts. But I took all of the CPs and marquees I could get my hands on. I also grabbed all the boards and coin doors I could get to. The guys at the landfill just laughed as I worked. Like I said they were VERY nice. A few of the games I could not get to. But I must say our landfill is one of the best around. So stuff like games don't sit around very long. I was lucky to get what I got. I also scored a rally x cocktail game. It was the only game not loaded. ;). Not a bad day for old Trickdragon. I did miss one nice pacman cab that had been converted to a shinobi game. It was in the dumpster, but I got the monitor and marquee boards and power supply. And I did this all in about an hour! LOL. Boy did I have fun. Wish I could have saved more.

Well avidgeek I did look for stickers and found zip. But I have a good idea of where they came from. I asked the op about them some time back. Hell I even gave them my number. I did my best for the games and they end up at the dump. How bad does that suck. The building they were in is for sale so I'm thinking the op may have passed on. Not sure, but I did get a little in the end. LOL. Man if you want a shot at the boards your more than welcome. Lol I'm sure I will let all the stuff go. I'll let you all know. I just figured someone might need the boards. I know I don't ! Ha ha

Dude, what a weird disposal facility. Those games look like freebies to me. I mean wtf? If they aren't dumped into a pile of shit or dropped down into a huge pit/ landfill, there'd be nothing stopping me from driving over there and jacking all the salvageable cabs/parts.

That really sucks but at least you were able to get some parts off them. Around here they wont let you dive on the trash heap anymore because of liability BS. I remember as a kid my dad would take us to the dump and we would leave with more than we came with. I got my best bikes from the dump. Also back then it was free, now it cost $10 a truckload.
I still swipe stuff when nobody is looking. A few years back I fond some sweet aluminum project boxes. They had NASA stickers on them, most likely came from the local navy base.

I know when I was a kid I loved the dump. My dad would hall ass to empty the truck out so I would not find to much junk! Yep they just went to the bins at our landfill. They separate all of the stuff now. They can't just dump games because they have a monitor in them. They have different bins fore metal, tv's,computers, paint, hazmat, batteries, .... It' very cool. They just finished it. Like I said it's a world class dump. And the people are very nice and very green! If they can figure out how to save it they do. Like it's free to bring in grass clippings and branches because they make mulch out of it and they chip all of the branches. Like I said world class dump "landfill". :)

And yes Riptor they frown on what they call "junking". Soooo mums the word. LOL. Sorry I had to share the story! ;). Plus I think that NASA box story kicks ass!! Ha

I used to drive Roll off trucks before the economy took a dump. My favorite boxes to pick up were the large 30 yarders that family members whould buy from us when a relative whould pass away they whould wipe out whatever was inside the house not even caring what was inside, I used to find good stuff, money, jewelry, collectable things never any arcades machines or pinballs although I seen pinballs at the land fill but beat to shit with major playfield wear or glass flaking, you think this is bad you should see what your local CEC throws away in dumpsters? example? A revenge from mars pinball with nothing wrong with it, just had to rotate the game out for a new one ? What a waste!

They also had a few claw games that the workers showed me. They were just plugging them in to see if they worked before they trashed them. So a few more pics. The worst part was when a front end loader came and smashed all of the games down to make more room. Noooooooo. Lol
