A/R II Board Rebuild

It says 10 Ohm on the schematic, but should actually be 100 Ohm on the board.

Man for some reason IIRC the ARII did use 1/4 watt 10ohm @ R29 & R30. Sorry not at home to check for ya.

BTW Peale - typically having these two resistors burn up is caused by a poor ground.

Yeah, I know about the poor connection. I just need to do the repairs. I've done a few already, but it's been a while and I couldn't remember the value of those resistors.

So...which is it, 10 or 100?

Use 100 Ohm. 10 Ohm resistors will allow more current through the sense lines and be more susceptible to self-destruction.

That should only be a problem if the issue regarding this isn't addressed, right?

I would not perform the "sense mod" on these.

That is correct. ie. assuming that the edge connectors never get worn, tarnished, broken, or accidentally pulled away from the card edge while the game is running, etc.

The sense mod really is no big deal. But it will save you (or the next person who buys your game) from having to worry about this again ten years down the road.
