At a restaurant near my work, they have an Elvira and the Party Monsters pin, and the display on the front for scores etc is not working.

I've tinkered with the idea of offering to fix it for the guy (and yes also tinkered with the idea of asking if he'd sell the game, but I'm broke so that probably wouldn't be worth pursuing), and wondered what could be making it not work? I have no clue how those work so, are they normally powered by a fuse that might be out or something?

Yeah...it could be a fuse, but the high voltage section on System 11's can fail. Sometimes it is simple as the resistors gone bad (open). They made replacement LED display kits for these games, but I have never used them.

Fairly common that the pin leads from the DMD display to the PCB behind it break. Easy fix if that's the case.

I just bought a set of "pinscores" for my Swords of Fury. Package just came in yesterday. Not cheap by any means, but hopefully I will have 4 working displays instead of 1.5 when I get around to slapping it in....you can also get the pinled ones that are around 50 bucks cheaper, I think Bay Area has them on sale for 119 or something right now...
