Took the girls into the basement for the first time in 2 weeks due to being tied up painting the kitchen (hopefully to be finished this weekend). So you know, the kids were kinda pumped just because it'd been a while...

Kassie (3 years old) played 720 degrees for an hour an a half straight. She's been playing the games on PBSKIDS.ORG a lot lately and I think she's learned that if she keeps tinkering with something on the computer, eventually it'll work. So I guess she was determined to play this game, she kept pumping tokens into it and figured out she needed to get into the parks and get to the bottom of the park ramps. She won medals occasionally, and I made a big deal about it when I saw it. She'd beam with pride when I told her she'd just won a medal! Ha...

The picture where she looks like she's pouting at the "game over" screen is actually her digging in her pocket for another token. :)

It's great isn't it? I busted my ass tonite to bring my Tempest back to life bc I can't wait to see my daughter playing it in the AM. She got to play it her first time ever abt 2 wks ago, which was when I got it up and running for the first time. The very next day when I went to power it up, the flyback nuked :(

Thanks! Yeah, I love that they enjoy them. Kassie spends a lot of time playing Marble Madness on my MAME cabinet, and she knows how to play the driving games, but someone has to push the gas pedal for her. This was the first time she spent a length of time on the 720, one of my favorites. :)

Though I suspect it has a lot to do with the age, I'm glad they like playing them for now. :) As kids get older, they generally seem to lose interest in the classics if they take an interest in modern gaming systems. The VR seems to be an exception, but I think most kids will enjoy that just because they can drive and compete against each other.

Love the "pouty" pic, such a great shot I even had to show the wife, who thought it was to cute. Definately one you out to have framed and hung up! :)

That is awesome. My 4 year old daughter playa my Donkey Kong Junior but is a little too young to get very far. Both my kids flock to it when they hear the sound when I plug it in.

Come One , Dude
They waited 2 weeks to go in the Man Cave?
Nice Try.
Painting , HA.
If you made you kids suffer to go in the Cade for 2 weeks that is Child Abuse!!

You had your girls tied up and painting the kitchen for 2 weeks?!? You pay them in tokens?

Slave driver!

:D

Ha ha...

Seriously, my wife won't take the kids into the basement. She maintains to the kids that "only daddy knows how to turn on the games..." ;) Though I think my 3 year old has figured it out so that excuse won't work for long. "That's okay mommy, I know how to turn them on!" ;)

Thanks Spyridon!
