I just recently complained about never finding anything at Goodwill, well I just walked into one today and found some great stuff.

Atari 2600 w/2 sticks, no rubbers on sticks $10 -
Atari stick - with rubber $2
All 2600 games .50 to $1 a piece.
Sorcerian - complete - old Sierra PC game 3.5's and 5.25's - $1
Super Nintendo Zelda - $1 Comes a close 2nd to the Atari find. ONE BUCK.
Playstation games were $2 a piece - X-Men COTA was worth it. I figured just grab what looked half-way decent while they had it.
Edit: Sega Genesis controller $1

Not a big haul - but shit I was pumped, a lot of folks trying to gouge on Atari's these days.

Multiply those price tags by at least 3 and youll get our goodwill prices around here. I especially hate when they sell Target hand-me-downs at a higher price than Target had on 'em.

My wife found 6 M-Network Atari games CIB for $3 each today at a local resale shop, pretty interesting find.

Gotta love Goodwill. The whole trick is going as much as possible. You miss alot, but I have found some gems!

Really good day for you though!

Wow - that's nuts, 2 of the closer Goodwills get pre-picked by the employees as far as games go. This one I went to today just opened a few weeks ago.

Did you pick them all up? I would'a. There's a record store in Toledo where I get a lot of stuff, they have a lot of games but they price pretty close to ebay most times. My best deals recently was a Saturn with a few games for $25. I went in one day and noticed they had 2 extra copies of Super Punch Out - one was priced at $18 that's been there forever - the other 2 priced at $5 - I grabbed them both and the guy at the counter immediately started yelling at the other guy across the store about the prices. LOL SUCKAS.

I'm having a hard time finding great deals on console stuff in the NW Ohio. I remember in high-school '97-'01 kids were literally giving the shit away left and right. I wasn't really into it at the time, too busy trying to make money and get puss, I guess. I helped a kid with his "senior experience", taught him how to read sheet and tab, taught him some scales, he shows up at my house, after he had his testing with the music teachers (if you didn't pass you didn't graduate) with a Virtual Boy in box, games, Super Nintendo in box, tons of games, and a NES with a bunch of games. Just gave it to me for helping him get out of high school. Sold all that shit in college. :(

Thanks, first time I've really found a SCORE. Only other thing I ever found at goodwill was a few SNES carts, Samurai Showdown, Chester Cheetah, and an F1 game, weak but they were $2 a piece.

I will be frequenting this goodwill now, but it's a small one in a small adjacent town..but at least they aren't filtered and pre-picked.

Nice finds. So do you plan on selling that stuff or keeping it? I'm just asking because I've been through that "Goodwill" hunting phase. Now I find that most of the old games I've acquired from the 2nd hand store don't get played . And I only bought them because I never played them back in the day. Now when I see old Atari stuff and other videogames at the 2nd hand store I only buy it if it's a game I know I'll play or if I think I can flip it.

I plan on keeping them, at least for a while, I have a tendency to sell stuff if it doesn't get played for a couple years, with the exception of games I played as a kid. When I was younger, I would always buy stuff and sell it later when I needed cash.

As far as these go, I actually lost my Zelda (more likely it was stolen), so that's definitely a keeper, and the $10 Atari I don't think I would sell because I couldn't replace it for that price. All of the game stores I've been to, and even on ebay, you see people gouging on them.

Back in 2005 I bought a mint condition Vectrex, 8 Vectrex games and boxed lightpen with program for $40. The sales people thought it was an old TV.

That's how I got my mint condition Flash Gordon LaserDisc. People thought it was a record.

forget about finding vids/electronics @ the thrift stores....

its all about the baby products!

the other day at the thrift store i found a BOB DOUBLE JOGGER STROLLER. paid 60 bucks for it, and sold it locally for $450. its crazy what some of these parents will pay for kids/baby crap.

That's a crazy good price for a double Bob. I got mine for $465 and thought it was a hell of a deal (retail is like $650). A lot of thrift stores won't touch/take in any baby stuff due to concerns about stuff being out of date in regards to safety regulations and what not.

yeah, i def got lucky on the bob stroller. as i was loading it into my truck a lady came rushing over to me and asked "is this for sale??" i said no, but i could tel she knew what it was. it was also the revolution version too.

luckily, most of the stores i frequent arent in the best parts of town so pretty much anything goes (esp regarding safety / baby products and all). everythings for sale! chris

We just sold our new single BOB for $380. I think it retails for $450. But my wife originally got it on sale for like $330. She's a baby deals expert. :D

Goodwill around here is expensive too. I saw a loose Super Tennis SNES cart for like $10. Definitely not a lot of video game deals in thrift stores around here. I know Slackmoe has found some old TVs that he was able to pull the monitors out as spare K4600s I think.

nice man on the bob stroller! i think i need to shift my thrift store hunting to all things babies :)

heh jess..... can you ask your expert wife -

besides BOB strollers, what other baby items are hot right now??

Haha, dude, if you get her going on baby deals, be prepared for a long sitting. I just nod and say, "yes, dear." :D

She did compare her buying/flipping stroller addiction to my arcade addiction. I think that's a fair comparison.

Not in my case. Both times I've gotten things that the cashier thought they were "records" (LaserDisc and RCA VideoDisc) were not "young" people. So you know what that means...

lulz. stupid people.

This is all I ever find at my Goodwill.
