Ok Ibought theese 2 years ago at Lowes and have never had any issues and they work great. Just plug them in to the wall and then plug your power strip into them. Now with a touch of a buttom all your games come on. You can buy 1 2 or 3 power units all with one remote control with 3 on buttons so you can turn on only sections or all of them. For 19.99 you cant loose. I also saw these Atari logo Ipad cases at Best Buy and though they were neat.

I got mine on a power strip with it in between two of the games so I can reach it...I hate that I can see the cords...this will be so nice. Were these in the Christmas section of Lowes?

I have a few of those. The only problem for me is that all of the ones that Lowes sold had the same frequency on the remote. so if I bought 10 packs then one remote would turn them all on.

The do work good though. Never turn on by themselves, or after a power surge/power restore.

I can't believe this didn't go through my head. I had a pack similar ones in my hands at Walmart the other day for my Christmas lights.

These are the best, although I use the Home Depot version.

I have used them now for 3 years without fail.

The best part is I labeled each button to which games turn on. Now my kids, or wife, just go down to the basement arcade, push the button of the games they want to play and off they go.

The home depot ones have frequency letters on the packaging. I was able to get a to f so I can control up to 18 units.

Freaking awesome.

Go buy them. Seriously.

Keith

yeah I have a bunch of these, all different letters, use them more than anything, makes life a lot easier, the only problem is you can only find them in stores christmas time. walgreens has them to! christmas light section

I only have 5 games so I don't worry about things like that. I just use the power switches on them.

I got staterd on these a couple of years ago when it was 1 remore 1 socket. Now I am replacing them slowly with the 1 remote 3 socket versions from Home Depot.

They are awesome.

I like them but have had a problem with them I thought I would mention. If you push the button too fast it doesnt totally turn the power on.. or it gives it a quick jolt and then turns off... messed up a couple of the monitors in 2 of my games. Monitor started scrolling on my Time Crisis and my galaga started booting all garbled. I since have fixed them but wanted to share my experience. I no longer use them cause Im paranoid but to be honest loved them and wish I had more confidence in them!

Wow, that's a deal killer for me. I was gonna go stock up until I read this post. Not worth a monitor repair for convenience purposes.

Thanks for sharing.

As an alternative to these Xmas only power strips, have a look at X10 technology. www.x10.com

I've been using X10 for over 15 years with no issues to turn my games on my back wall on and off with. I even use it for my outside Xmas lights. I only use appliance modules for the games and outside lights since they can handle more amperage and load.

In my house I have X10 light switches installed at several places that allows me to turn lights on, off and dim with a remote. It's a really nice system.

YMMV,
Tom

Man, anybody else have problems with the Holiday Time plugs? On my third set now. First set, off button 3 barely worked. Second set, one of the modules would shut off after a few minutes. Just got my third set and one of the modules is stuck on, can't shut it off. Gonna give them one more try.

I need to figure out if X10 is affordable enough to have a module for each of about 50 games in my basement. I'd love to be able to sequence them all on one at a time every few seconds at the touch of a button. I hate turning on too many of them at once. . . too many problems seemed to have started happening when I used to do that.

oh, I'm looking for these tomorrow!
