A must buy on craigslist! (custom)

And the best part "The cabinet itself is in very good shape but will need additional work to look "complete""

I say putting the pc inside the cab would be a great start.

Talk about missing the point completely. Would be easier to just play the games sitting at your desk instead of being in front of that thing.

Which is why I will never own a mame cab. Plus I,nor anyone else, ever had fond memories of playing on a mame machine BITD at the arcade.

This must be yours your selling you sound like a used car salesman! show me the carfax on this cab dude I give it two thumbs down!
new poster and no city posted hmmm ya it's yours

Yeah, that's why he's insulting the wording of the post and mocking the seller and his design choices... that's the best way to sell a game, after all ;)

I hate it when people post shit like that. I could just buy 50 dollar computers, load up mame and emu discs, and sell them for 1000$ Complete Videogame Center!! Plays thousands of games ready to go!! I run mame on my computer / Tv, but I never understood Mame cabinets. Building a big wooden box for your computer and TV. Maybe if you build it, then get alzhiemers and think its a real arcade unit, thatd be ok.

This is for sure not my monstrosity lol. I have however built a couple "mame" cabs but nothing like this one. Here are my pics of mine from BYOAC.

P.S. Why would the city matter? I am from the cincy ohio for your information.

Thats like saying you'll never drive a car because the Yugo was made.
Your MAME cab doesn't have to look like that one, unless thats your level of craftsmanship too... Oh.

I still don't get how people can't see mame cabs as a good thing... What if you don't have the 1200 square foot of arcade space full of your BITD favorites?

It lets you play a game you don't have (yet) on a machine that's pretty damn close to the real thing. (Assuming the controls are the same) If someone asks you "Hey, do you have...?" Then yes. Yes, you do. ;)

They are apples and oranges, but a mame cab is a damn good apple. That also tastes like a banana. And a pineapple. And grapes. And a tangerine. And strawberries. And Kiwi. And...

First, let me say that as a great fan of dynamo cabs, that cabinet isn't all that bad. Its a 25" HS-5 with what looks like a nice universal configuration control panel in the sweet red color. Its only missing about 35 dollars worth of plexi glass and a real monitor of course. If I was needing a good cab, I'd probably offer 100 bucks for the cab. I might be inclined to offer 110 if he'd pull all that mame crap of it. But as far as an authentic arcade experience goes, the seller succeeds at an epic fail.

Ok anyone need a SWEET neo geo cab, hurry I may buy it b4 you can get to it!

Thats not too bad of a MAME for only $350 if its configured properly. Sure the parts are only worth $100-$150 Max,(computer looks old) but its the hours of setting it up that is worth the money. It needs the computer moved below, which is tough on a dynamo. And a bezel and marquee. Then it would look "complete"

Why do I think its not a bad deal...........
I bought a $50 Mame (figured it was worth it for the iPac) but the guy removed the HD because it had his work XP license. I thought he was just saying he was not including games to keep it from being pulled on craigslist, but I couldn't convince him to leave the HD in, but he did show me everything working. I still do not have it set up a year later, I cannot get sound out of the MB, guess its a driver issue, I still need to go through and correct controls for each game, don't have a nice frontend, etc. But after having no sound I sort of gave up, why bother if you cant hear anything. Maybe someday.......

I also have the whole ROM and CHD set, two new HD's, bought a new Dell core2duo with 19" monitor almost 2 years ago, but it is all still in the box because I just don't have time to set it up.

But thats like most of my projects, I'm good at buying the materials but never have time to do them.
House, Shore, Arcade, Kids projects are all started but who knows when any will get done......

I disagree. I took an old MK cabinet and computer (both bound for the junkheap) and recycled them into a nice mame cabinet with about twenty classic 80's arcade games. It's complete with an 15khz arcade monitor, marquee, working coin door, no visible PC or keyboard, etc. Except for the game selection front end appearing when you hit P1+P2, it looks and plays very much like a dedicated cabinet. It's huge hit with guests and at parties, and I enjoy playing some games I don't have space for. And IMHO, dropping quarters and playing standing up in a marginally lit room adds significantly to the mame play experience.
