I think we should all take a moment of silence....

.... so I can scream IT'S ALIVE!!!!! (Dr. Frankenstein voice) :>

As many of you know I have been working on restoring an Astron Belt (Galaxy Ranger is next) and for the first time today, in who knows how many years, it came back to life! It still needs lots of TLC and some general clean-up (pics pending), etc., but it is playable. Nothing quite like that feeling of seeing a long-term project come to life for the first time. :) Hmmm... I wonder if I should buy a lotto ticket today? :>

Happy gaming!

Sweet, Congratz. I felt nearly the same way when I got my Berzerk going for the first time last night.

Pics or it didn't happen.
Pics or it didn't happen??? OK, here are some pics. Clearly, it needs a lot more TLC and a bezel (still needs TLC itself before being installed), but it works!

Ha Ha, that is funny. I planned to e-mail you those pics (higher-res, so you could see details).

I haven't done much to the front, but that is next and then it will look much nicer than when it was yours. :) The insides looks totally difffent, of course. I told you I would restore it! Thanks again. :>

Right you are. I've had my mom's Galaxian machine apart for the last month while the cabinet underwent some serious cleaning and repainting. I put the monitor and board back in it last night. I had that nervous tingly feeling for a few seconds as the monitor warmed up but it works great. Still have a ways to go before its done though.
