So out of a hydro thunder, its med res. It worked, put a cap kit in it and new flyback(then it did not work). Fixed! Replaced a 10uf with 1uf (oops). Now it looks great but my b plus is at 180 volts, but the monitor runs? .... After 10 minutes it wil start coming in and out of shutdown.

Are you positive you're testing your B+ at the right place? I think there's also a "Video B+" test point on that chassis but can't remember if it's supposed to be higher or not.

Did you try turning the B+ down? There's an adjustment knob behind the flyback.

Video B+ is way higher. I don't remember how much way higher though.

the B+ pot is covered in orange goo and they're next to impossible to open up to actually adjust. probably beneficial to buy a new one and desolder and bust the old one off.

TP202 is the one you want, that's nearest to the B+ pot if I recall. the one on the edge is TP203 which is Video B+. TP202 you want to adjust the B+ to about 118V. some claim some other outlandish number like 118.7 or something but I don't think a volt or two either way will hurt anyone's feelings.

I'm more curious WHEN you adjust the B+ because it makes a difference if the screen is white or black. :p
