My sob story is that some absolute jerk opened the back of our Baby Pac-Man, maybe trying to get the three-four tokens that were in the coin box, snapped the neck of the monitor. After trying to find a local replacement for a while, I gave up and just bought a working K7200. After fooling around with that for hours and finally figuring out my sync problem was that the earth ground wasn't connected to the frame, I got it all adjusted nice, replaced a flakey green pot on the Vidiot board just to make it perfect.... all I had to do was swap the frame.

Swapped the frame, got everything connected, checked, double checked... powered on and it smoked and had vertical collapse. Very frustrating.

It looks like L102 is what burnt up, I'm not sure if something was shorted to the frame or what but I must have done something dumb like that. I tested the diode right next to it (D103) and that's fine.

What the heck is L102 and what could have caused it to burn? Anyhow I'm pretty sure that's what it is based on schematics and what I can make out through the burn. See pics.

Thanks for any info.

l102 would be an inductor/coil with the rated inductance. are you sure it was actually installed because i can't believe it could vaporize.
