Had to make a trip out to Salt Lake so I figured I would eyeball there CL to see if anything good was for sale. Saw this game for $125, working except for the sound. It had been on there for a few weeks. Offered the guy an extra $25 if he would hold it for me and he said ok. Took a chance and sent him a postal money order. Went down the next week , stopped by grabbed the game, took care of some other business while I was in town and headed for home. Ended up being a bad socketed chip on the daughterboard and now it works 100%. Someone cut the battery off the motherboard at some point so the acid damage was almost nil.

You SLC guys are slacking !

Lol, well, I figured at that price, even if the cabinet was all water damaged the board and monitor would be worth it. Turns out the cab has zero water damage and is in decent shape and fully intact. All the artwork, back door and even the black light works. Not sure why someone there didn't grab it sooner.

Omega Race is not for the faint of heart (or light of wallet.) Sounds like you won the lottery on this one, though. Congrats!

Looks good! You definitely scored at that price. Omega Race is a great game, especially when they work.

Oh come on ARC you gonna treat us like that.....BTW I would've got that and held that for ya man (no charge of course), so remember I'm here if ya need anything or want to say hi if in town again...Also I am ashamed to say but I have no idea about Omega Race, and have never played it, there has actually been two of them around for a bit. Maybe one day we can meet up. great pick up man.

All your Omega Race belong to us !

I was only in town for a whopping 2.5 hours total but next time if i am going to be down longer I will check you out. This was actually in Ogden about 3 miles from my friends house so it was pretty convenient.

All good man, just know i'm here if ya need anything as well...I'm in Sugarhouse (south salt lake they call it) hell nowhere is really that far round here..till next time

to grab a working omega race for that price is just bad ass. that's like as challenging as trying to find a working sega vector...

Just got lucky that someonw removed the battery before any damage was done. Special thanks to Hatrick for using the chips on his daughterboard to narrow it down to the bad one. Of course it was the last one we tried.

....last one you tried... i love that statement... like if you found it you would keep going?? HEHE..

Nice pickup man, that thing shines nice!!! im in awe of how nice that thing is.

and to top it off somebody was smart enough to remove the battery back in the day..... AWESOME!!!!

Lol what i meant to say is it was the last socketed chip left to try.

I'm glad to see that another Omega Race found a great home. It will look perfect in your collection!

I think that Omega Race has been for sale for a while. I may be wrong. There was a guy in a suburb of SLC (midvale?) that had 4 or five games for sale for about a year, maybe 2 years ago. All were pretty nice, and good titles but he wanted a good amount for each. Not crazy high, but not bargains either. The OR was $125, not working.

Next time you are in SLC, post it up and we can try to setup a KLOV lunch. Hey Hucklebuck, do we know each other? Are you on the UTVGG list?

Nice grab, Dave. I once owned the caberet version, then sold it. I had a chance to buy a really nice working upright but passed because I just didn't quite have the cash at that time. Very cool game and awesome artwork to boot. Congrats!
