- launching multiple balls...how does this happen? and how do i stop it? it's totally random (or at least it appears that way). sometimes it launches one like it's supposed to and sometimes it launches 2....i cannot detect a pattern.

- ball save on left side sometimes does not activate. is this because the rollover switch is set too "low" and it's not reading it?

- i'd like the right inlane to allow the ball through a bit quicker while still registering the points....reason being, i'd like there to be less of a chance to trap the ball on the right flipper when it comes back from the ramp. can i adjust the switch a bit lower to achieve the desired result?

(these are all questions on my DE SW, btw....i listed it as a "general" question as i'm thinking it's pretty much universal on that era game)

thanks a ton, fellas.

launching multiple balls, could be you have one to many, however it would do it everytime

most likely this is because one of the rollovers in the trough is getting stuck/mis adjusted/worn out

as for the ball coming off the rail, have you tried loosening the nut holding it to adjust it,that way the ball wont hit anything on the way to the flipper........your problem may also be the leveler on the front right not being the same as the left

For the first issue, have you tested the switch in the trough? Sounds like maybe an intermittent issue with that switch. Maybe try loosening that switch so it is not activated and see if more than one ball launches.

With the kicker, I think that sounds like either an intermittent switch issue, or the metal loop not being up high enough to trigger the switch when the ball rolls over it. Maybe some bending and adjustment would help. I've had flaky switches cause similar problems and replacing the switch was the answer.

As for the ball coming down the inlane faster, as long as the ball is dropping straight down and not hitting anything to slow it, I don't know much else you can do other than tilt the machine up a bit more to speed it up.

yeah...definitely the right amount of balls (buh-huh). i'll try messing with the trough switch, but i've never done that before so i might be right back here with more questions in a few days.

and yes...the ball is coming straight down off the wireform and not hitting anything other than the switch when it drops. i wasn't sure if it was possible to make it "faster" but figured i'd ask anyway.

as for the kicker, i agree it seems like the metal "loop" on the switch isn't sticking up high enough, but i wanted to make sure before i went bending shit i had no business bending. LOL. i'll try it and report back if there's any problems.

again, thanks fellas....

Oops, for the first issue, I meant the switch in the shooter lane, not the trough. I typed the wrong thing. I was thinking that if the ball got ejected into the lane and the switch didn't pick it up, it might eject another after you've shot the ball out onto the playfield.

ok..think i gotcha:

so it could be the trough switch or the shooter lane switch? i'm assuming the shooter lane switch would "not" be registering a ball being kicked over there? that right?

god, i love pinball. ;)

That's what I was thinking, but honestly I'm just guessing. I haven't tried disabling the switch to see what happens. But if I can help by trying it on my machine let me know (it won't be until tomorrow).
