Two weeks or so ago I saw a MakeTrax bezel on EBay that looked to be in better shape than the one on my MakeTrax. The seller was stevelpa. So I bid and won it (no I didn't drive to PA to go get it). It arrived on my doorstep today and my heart sunk. One of the bottom corners looked like somebody put the boot to it.

Figuring I now have another box of glass shards, I almost didn't open it. When I did, I was very pleased to see this after unwrapping a ton of bubble wrap:

So I don't know if stevelpa is a member here or not, but he definitely gets my thanks as somebody who know how to pack a bezel.

There are tons of F**** Ebay stories, so I thought I should post one that went right.

That is definitely a good story to hear. And that new bezel actually looks pretty good! A clearcoat and touch-up will have that looking great. Most Make Trax bezels seem to have a horrible flaking issue.

I just bought my Rampage bezel from him, same story. That guy packed it for a tornado!

If he's a member here, I did not know it. But he put 4 layers of bubble wrap around mine, and a wooden frame! :D

So, +1 to your praise of stevelpa!!!

Wait, these acually exist?

Did I just jump in a hot tub and go back 10 years, you know, back when there really were "feel good" eBay dealings?

OK, enough ranting. Glad you got your bezel in one piece.

I hope the Burgertime Bezel I just won on eBay come packed that well fingers crossed. Looks like a little black paint touch up and that thing is as good as new.

I'm rooting for you on the BT bezel. I know shipping pieces of glass that big is just asking for trouble, but sometimes it is the only way to get something you really need/want.

You are right, a little black paint and some clearcoat to seal it and it will look very nice. If I remember, I will take some pics of the current one which is flaking pretty bad when I swap them.

First I need to be able to get to it....d*mn project filled garage.....:001_ssad:
