I was testing a monitor board today and found a unique problem.

I installed a Pentranic model #1019 board to an old 19" WG tube and got what appears to be a 13" screen inside the 19" tube. I've checked the board and no settings appear to be there that can change the view(other than the W / N jumper - which had little affect).

I've attached some pics for reference.

Any input would be appreciated......

low b+ can cause small screen issues...

but im thinking either the chassis is for a smaller tube, or more likely the yoke on that donor tube isnt compatible with that chassis...

edit after doing some reasarch the pentranic 1019 is for a 19" monitor...

so my votes still chassis issue/low b+ or the chassis simply isnt compatible with the yoke you are trying to use

it was actually a hobby for alot of ops back in the 80's very similar to the miniature ships you see in the bottle. if you can figure out what wires go where you can get each screen to have a different image...

elaborate on this. I know I just woke up and am on the groggy side but... this sounds interesting. lol

also, wouldn't this have something to do with the width coil? are B+ and width coil interchangeable? I haven't delved that far into monitors yet...

nice aj!!

it would be a qood question for chad ken or mod or some othe rmonitor guru but afte rmore thought im almost positive you have a yoke mismatch going on...

Usually the only time I see a smaller image on a bigger tube is when:

a) The chassis is meant for the smaller size tube

b) the flyback is for the 13" version but installed on the 19" version.

I guess if the flyback or HOT was functioning not at spec it might do something like this. If it hasn't been rebuilt yet, and you're sure everything is for the 19", then start there...
