94' Gottlieb Freddy A Nightmare on Elm Street Price check

There is a 'Freddy A Nightmare on Elm Street' near me for sale..just wondering what the price range is for these.

Ok.. so the guys 2k asking price is way out there then? Is this a fun game?

Since I'm not a pin aficionado.. I guess I would have to go look at it and play it first to really see if it appeals to me. Are there any particular gripes and/or complaints about the gameplay or mechanics of the pin?

The claw/ finger knives seem to be broken a lot. I also heard the pin is just un-fun to play. I'd try it for yourself and see what you think. I've purchased pins before that were supposed to be clunkers and loved them. It's all subjective.

THE BAD
-No ramps. That's right, there are no ramps on this game
-Not that many shots, not many interesting shots
-Easiest multiballs ever
-Overall game is pretty easy
-Boiler door will get messed up often
-Glove toy is basically worthless in terms of gameplay

THE GOOD
-Great music and sounds/speech
-Decent dmd
-Decent art

I would only suggest someone get it if a) it's cheap, b) they're a huge freddy fanatic, and c) it's joining a collection of at least four other pins.

GTB sys3 pins are a great value and reliable, er, that is when they are priced right, I owned one and sold it, dont love the gameplay but its fun, and looks and sounds badass, until you are walking by it and hear screams in attract mode and piss yourself in a dark garage.. KidVidiot has it nailed, but imo, the non-ramp shots dont deter the gameplay at all. fun, not $2K fun.

I own one and even though there are not a "ton" of shots, it is still fun in it's own way. I do believe that being a fan of the movies does help a lot. I have seen most people "asking" around $1700 lately, but are probably selling them for less.

I owned Freddy for a couple years and really did like it. The art, DMD animations and music/sound are really well done, and the machine is built like a tank.

I also liked it's somewhat unorthodox and open playfield, but the thing that really hurt its lasting power for me was the CONSTANT multiball. Seriously, this game is just about ALL multiball and it gets tiring.

And as KidVidiot pointed out, the glove toy is indeed pretty much worthless (although it IS possible to use it to pass the ball to the upper-flipper [and then into the boiler]), and the boiler door will need frequent adjusting.

I agree with Phet's $1100-to-$1400 price range.

Well according to the ad the guy has updated it with LEDs and recently replaced the glove.

From the ad:
New glove, plastic ramp, pop bumper skirts, rubber rings, flipper bats, decals, pinballs and LEDs in the play field and some in the back box. Cabinet and back box in excellent condition, minor ware and NO fade. Trans is in excellent condition as well. Only plastic broken is a small piece on the burner dome.

I played Jeff F's at his party in August, and it was tons of fun! When you get the claw right it is awesome!

From the ad:

LEDs...ugh.

That doesn't make it worth a penny more than if it only had incandescents. Well, to me anyways. I seem to be in the minority on that, so you may feel differently.

I agree, I wouldn't want to put LEDs in my sttng you lose some of the special effects

not an LED fan but they aren't too bad on Freddy because the playfield is really dark and the inserts are pretty heavy/dark so LED's give it the extra oomph

I still wouldn't pay more than $1600 at the very most though
